My guess is that it will start out with Earth and then we will move on to the other planets (i.e Illum, Tuchanka, ect.). I mean, Shepard still works for Cerberus (I'm assuming) so his interests are in Humanity.
Also, maybe, the Incisor is gray to show that it is a weapon for the police force, maybe the blue variant is used in the military. I could be wrong though.

Not if you go Paragon in ME2.
It takes them a while to weed out all the humans and kill them so he's got plenty of time. It's likely to not even start at Earth being attacked and instead you get a bit of warning so you can build forces.
Also who wants a shiny blue Incisor anyway? It has no camouflage and looks like a kids toy. I prefer it grey because it looks like an actual gun rather than the plastic toy guns used by most races.
Since my Shepard is Earthborn I better get a chance to meet the Reds again
Fuck the reds. They wouldn't even form a militia and would just fall apart when they lost their drug trade.

In all seriousness, that is a fair point. I don't entirely know why all these futuristic games/shows/movies always feel the need to make the weapons look like they're all manufactured by Mattel.
Just think of the dialogue with the Councillors, gonna be the best part of the game.
Also the thing the soldier shoots from Big Ben is one of those Creeper thing's that you fought at Eden Prime so either the Reaper's have them stored on their ships from the last time or they are getting help from someone again.

Also I hope we get "bigger" decisions this time, like having an entire planet burned to a crisp to intimidate a race to help you or something (also they better not have the usual "good is better and you'll have it better if you're good" bullshit, for example having Udina as dictator instead of the council should help [B]a lot[/B] in a situation like this).

What's to say the council species will actually listen to them in a situation like this? Everybody hates humans in a situation like that.
Holy shit why would you waste resources attacking other planets when you got an entire Reaper fleet to fend off?

And if Udina is there then all the council species will think that Udina only cares about protecting Earth and human worlds so who knows maybe a war will erupt during the Reaper Invasion as well.

After that I'm assuming they would write you in the Alliance military. Either way Shepard is a human sympathizer. He's going to help Earth first (it will probably be comparable to your time spent on Taris in KOTOR).

It seems like this installment is taking a step back, going from "saving the entire galaxy" to "saving a single planet". Kinda sucks since it's a trilogy and this is how it'll end. I just hope for a MMO.

Like I said, Reapers are attacking every where but considering Shepard is human, he will most likely try to save Earth first then move on to the rest of the galaxy.
Earth has the Ark and the Reapers need to find it that's why.

Now that the Reapers are confirmed and humans are the only ones who have managed to fight them back (Shepard), they'll do it out of desperation. In a normal situation they probably wouldn't help humanity after what happened, but they don't really have a choice now (even if humans are bastards we're their only hope, I'd expect that they'll wait until the threat of assured destruction is over before turning against humanity).
Though better example would be the CB instead, I spared it going with the apparently "evil" choice, I sure do hope it will give me benefits against the Reapers.

You need support in fending the Reapers off. Be that through gently asking or forcing and intimidating.
The CB base should give humanity (or at least Cerberus) enough of a technological boost to be powerful enough to intimidate other races (though this depends on how much time has passed since the end of ME2).
Looking forward to the sequel. I'd guess that you don't have time to get new members for your team if the game starts off with the Reapers invading all planets or something.

It's understandable that the tower is still there. It's a historical monument and would be preserved like anything else. I dunno if they would make it operational but they wouldn't imagine demolishing it any more than France would knock down the Notre Dame or America would destroy the Statue of Liberty. There are larger, more modern (futuristic) buildings around so it's not like they are still in the dark ages.

Since Mass Effect 2 and the trailer for three aren't enough to make a decision, what are your guys thoughts on the idea that the Reapers are visually supposed to be in relation to whatever species they use? While it's suggested from the 'Human Reaper', it seems like they all resemble the same 'cuttlefish' tentacle shape. I'm not exact on the history, but I remember the story being that the Reapers clean out the galaxy continuously in cycles, so I was thinking that maybe they all look the same because they all fed on a single species that existed prior to the games. I'unno, just curious on what you guys here think (since you're all more likely to come up with a more plausible answer at the current stages of Mass Effect lore).
They are a starship, not a species. The Human Reaper if progressed would of looked exactly like the other Reapers. They may be based off an original design from a previous species but that would of been millions of years ago and far out of reach of any knowledge.

Agreed, the new teaser got me excited a little only to ruin it with the Holidays 2011 release date. One year is a long time and no one can tell if the game gets delayed for what reason ever. Not trying to be a party blower, but these cinematic movies are far from actual gameplay. Currently we only know the plot, which is good enough for me. The hype will calm down soon, it takes probably 1-2 months until the next teaser gets out. Oh dear, one year....
