Anyone hoping for a space dogfight? Also, I'm hoping we get a British companion.
I really hope that the ME2 companions return.
Legion will return, probably as a squadmate. When the Geth die, their memories are archived and their experiences given to all other Geth. If Legion dies, all other Geth will have his experience and you know they will all value it greatly. If the Geth were to produce another model similar to Legion with the capacity to run thousands of programs simultaneously then it would no doubt have the experiences and memories of Legion. There is not much variance in Geth personality so no-one would even notice the difference if it was a different platform. If Legion died, they could make another one almost the exact same. I think he will be a squadmate due to the reaction to having him in ME2. I'm sure Legion was among the most popular squadmates for his awesome dialogue options and the fact that having a competent squadmate with a Widow is a massive bonus. Unfortunately however he was not in the game for much and there would of been a bit of disappointment about this. No doubt Bioware will listen to this and give us a Geth squadmate for a lot more of the game.
I doubt his antenna can send that far. Didn't he have to use the Normandy as amplifier to access the Geth database? The idea that they can't die reminds me a bit of the cylons from BSG. [editline]12th December 2010[/editline]
I really hope that the ME2 companions return.
How will they explain it when half of Shepard's team dies? Most of us will have everyone alive, but I can't imagine how BioWare will handle all possible outcomes. "Too much variables, not enough data.", would Mordin say probably. I can't imagine they would screw over us with a new team, but I can't imagine on the other hand how someone is supposed to fight with just two squadmates. [editline]12th December 2010[/editline] [sp]Take it for granted that at least Ash OR Kaidan will survive, because you can only kill one of them plotwise. And Liara can't die for certain reasons as well. Makes one complete squad. Hell, that would suck to finish a game with the same squad during the whole time.[/sp]

I think that we are going to see them again in ME3, even if there are technical difficulties. But what's the problem with variables ? I don't see how they would be different than the ones in ME2, it's simple, has a squadmate died ? Just flag him as dead, and the rest of the squad's variables will remain unaffected. But if someone manages to kill everyone but 2 squadmates, well, they deserve to play ME3 that way, imo. I wonder what will happen if those two squadmates are Kasumi and Zaeed...
The guys over at Bioware are so clever, I'm sure they've already figured it out
Oh god that trailer is like a gift from god.
And thats just the reveal trailer
Oh god that trailer is like a gift from Bioware.
Now I can't wait to see gameplay.

This is why I think it's gonna pay off to have Anderson as Councillor in ME3. This very situation. A situation in which a call to arms is necessary. Anderson is gonna be like, "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! I HAVE HAD IT WITH THESE MOTHERFUCKING HYPOCRITES ON THIS MOTHERFUCKING COUNCIL!" and he's gonna take charge and deal with the situation himself.

Still getting shivers after watching both ME2 and ME3 teaser. They are so good.
Hnnnngh, Reapers in LONDON. Big Ben's tower is still standing! Hellayeah.
Hnnnngh, Reapers in LONDON. Big Ben's tower is still standing! Hellayeah.
I pretty much browned my underpants after watching that trailer. [editline]12th December 2010[/editline] I always thought it would be the kind of thing that happens near the endgame i.e. you get to choose to save Earth or something like the Citadel, but NOPE, it's all in the fucking trailer. Jesus Christ.
Moving this to the new page, maybe someone joins us.
Well the original purpose of this chat channel is obsolete now, but Facepunch can still use it.
>Goes on Facepunch >Looks at ME thread subscription >249 new posts You guys have been busy.
Well, Mass Effect 3 got a release date, and it's soon going to be a college break so ME marathon at some point in the future.
Hope there's more to the game than just collect a fleet to save Earth I want to see the reapers fuck up the entire galaxy Sweet teaser anyway
Hope there's more to the game than just collect a fleet to save Earth I want to see the reapers fuck up the entire galaxy
That can be the bad ending.
Woke up with nearly 300 new posts - that's 'Minecraft Thread' levels of chatter. Impressive trailer. Guessing we'll get a another British squadmate, which is pretty cool. Can't wait. EDIT: Anderson was born in London apparently. You learn something every day.
