Because Jacob is a nice, self controlled man.
I actually think Jacob is an okay character.
Eh, you may have a point there.
I'd like for him to develop a bit though.
Jacob isn't boring, he's normal. He's just a nice military guy with a bit of an interesting job. He has military history and his dad's a deadbeat but aside from that, he's just as normal as anyone else. I hate that.
whos better to have in me2, zaeed, kasumi or liara
The big Guddam hero, Zaeed.

I blame Modern Warfare 2 that some people always want "badass" characters such as Ghost. Zaeed however is all right, he is half a badass half a victim himself. At least from what he tells about his past, when he got framed.

It's not just in games bro, it's in real life too. Normal is kinda boring to me and I always do my best to bring out the crazy and interesting bits in my friends. As for Badass, who gives a fuck. He might be the least badass on the crew but it's a pretty high standard and it makes no difference to a character. Ghost is also a terrible example as he is just "imma super soldier, i got a skull on my face, oops i died".

Liara.
If you can afford it, get all 3. I'm assuming you bought a second hand copy since you asked about Zaeed - Zaeed is free if you bought a fresh copy and used the Cerberus Network card.
All 3 companions are good in their own way, although the lack of outside conversation (barring Liara of course) can rankle at times.
Wait, you can get Liara on your team in Me2?
During Lair of the Shadow Broker.
It's worth getting it nonetheless, not only because it's the longest DLC of all, but simply the best one.
Kasumi is best out of the three. A bit more... human than all the other characters.
Strange that all we do between DLC is talk about characters.

Plus, she talks about your squadmates, notices a [sp]change in Samara if you killed her and Morinth is there[/sp], and she calls you Shep. Plus, she is actually useful in the suicide mission([sp]she is one of the tech experts that survives the vents.[/sp])
Liara, well, she had stasis, that shit helped me against Tela(the most badass boss fight in Mass Effect history, not counting Thresher Maws, and [sp]the human-reaper[/sp]).
(the most badass boss fight in Mass Effect history, not counting Thresher Maws, and [sp]the human-reaper[/sp]).
The [sp]human-reaper[/sp] was the most streamlined part of the game. [sp]'Shoot the injection tubes!'[/sp], anyone?
And pretty much all special class powers were useless in the fight. Charge? Combat Drone? No really use for any. Hell, more streamlined than fighting [sp]Husk-Hopper-Saren[/sp] in the first game, at least that gave a challenge. Of course it was scary but it was only scary, hardly difficult, even on Insanity.
For the DLC squadmembers, both are awesome. Zaeed is just badass (see Renegade end of his loyalty mission) and Kasumi is the Bioware response to the fans, she even presents herself as a fan of Shepard.
whoops i accidently got all the dlc, oh well. does your relationship with liara continue and do they all have loyalty missions?
also i hear somthing special could happen to zaeed after his (i know what it is i just dont know how to hide spoilers) how does this happen?
The fight against Vela was fucking amazing. Stasis was very good for giving your squadmates time to recover their shields and health

It was a horribly generic boss fight. You literally had to SHOOT THE GLOWING WEAKSPOT, that's how generic it was.

Yeah, biggest Let down of ME2 was that bastard.
Creepy as fuck though, lame fight.
Garuus is such a bro.

Here's hope that ME3 doesn't have a streamlined generic boss fight (two games are enough).
Another thing. I was playing ME1 and I couldn't help but noticing that Saren is one of the few turian biotics. Didn't seem relevant at the time but fast-forwarding to ME2, there's a lot of talk about dark energy and effects on stars.
'Dark energy is manipulated using the extremely rare material element zero.' And a quick look in the element zero page gives this: When humans discovered the Prothean ruins on Mars, they also discovered refined element zero that the Protheans had left behind.
If the Protheans had element zero, then other civilizations probably had it as well, that means, for some extent, that element zero technology [sp]is also Reaper technology[/sp]. And that why Saren was a biotic (doesn't need explaining now, does it?).

We knew that mass effect technology was [sp]Reaper tech[/sp] but biotic powers are gained only through exposure to eezo in the womb.
so........ anything in specific we could all discuss today.
i shall get us started. TF2 mass effect replacements. to be or not to be. the question is, is anybody up to the task.
i was thinking, omni tool gun slinger for the engineer. and combat drone mini sentry replacement

Also, the LOTSB final boss was horrible. I was expecting something incredibly intellectual, but I just get a big bad with a shield. Don't get me wrong, it was a decently put together boss fight, but a game as cinematic as Mass Effect really shouldn't be resorting to things as videogamey as 'fanal bosses' at all. Saren at the end of ME1 was great, you could just convince him to shoot himself, which I rate as one of the best moments in the game. And even though you had to fight the possessed form of him afterwards at least it still wasn't as SHOOT THE GLOWING WEAKSPOT generic as ME2's final boss.
[sp]the human-reaper[/sp]).
i found that glitch where by using stasis on the human reaper, it spazzes up and freezes into a T shape. then goes back to normal. so in a way it was useful

The Broker was a lot stronger, even though what he turned out to be was just ridiculous, it's like they just made everything up on the spot.
It probably went like
Bioware HQ: "Uh well uh we finished this whole DLC but we have nothing clever to make the Shadow Broker into, let's make up something quick"
Eh. How else could they have made a fight with the Shadow Broker interesting? It was still a decent boss fight compared to all other ME bosses.

I was hoping for someone similar to The Illusive Man. A well dressed "gentleman" behind an energy shield or something while you had to fight high level goons and traps to de-activate his/her defenses. Then just have a nice event after you destroy the defenses, where you can decide to spare him/her or let Liara kill him/her.
Instead we got some brutish alien-of-the-week that keeps spare machineguns and body armor lying around. If you're going to have someone like the Shadow Broker in your game, at least make them look the part.

The game's soundtrack. Good times.

Yeah. I was hoping for something more along the lines of C-Con, from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl, where you find out that [sp]the people behind the zone are a bunch of crazed, all powerful eggheads[/sp] Sure, you kind of expected it, but it would have been dumb to put an intelligent Pseudogiant in their places. Which is essentially what Bioware did.
