If you're right, I'm both excited that it isn't gonna be some dreary fucking FPS franchise but worried that it's not gonna be true to the spirit of ME, what with it being all brown and gloomy.
This will be before humanity had access to all of the tech the citadel races had developed. Remember, all they had gotten from the Prothean ruins was mass effect technology, and maybe some new computer tech.
This is assuming it's even set in the First Contact war.
Given the huge size of the walls, I'd probably say this is a sequel to Shattered Steel, a mech game.
I'd be okay with it being a new mech game. The PC needs a new mech game.

I still remember Mech Warrior 2.
Oh nostalgia...
I just realized something: I never gave any other choices for someone to act as the Terminator. If Saren is still the best choice, rate Agree. If you can think of someone else, rate Disagree and tell me who you think should be in.

When/if the Terminator gets burned, you should use Husk-Saren for the model. If you don't have that, use Legion.

sovereign :v:
human-reaper would be best but i doubt there is a model
After looking at the images again, I'd be surprised if the reveal is not a Mass Effect spin-off, the sniper rifle looks just like a modified Incisor rifle.
Either way, we win anyway, since a good mech game or Mass Effect game is always welcome.

It's definitely the same rifle.

I'm guessing that if it's set in the First Contact war, it's being used because the modelers are too lazy/busy to come up with a whole new model.
Another explanation is that, like it's been said earlier, it's a whole new game.
Or, it could be set some time after the events in the Mass Effect series.
Besides, that armor looks a little crude for Mass Effect.

Could make sense if it's set before humanity discovered mass effect technology so their armors didn't have the fancy shields and kinetic barriers yet.

But yeah, the whole scene looks a bit too gritty for Mass Effect.
When/if the Terminator gets burned, you should use Husk-Saren for the model. If you don't have that, use Legion.
Unfortunately I don't have the Husk-Saren. I DID put in a request for it in the Mass Effect thread in the modeling subforum, but I don't know if that'll go through. If it does, then I'll use it. I had planned on starting with the Terminator's arrival (which, in this case, will be Saren confronting a group of Blue Suns), then going on to the police station massacre. So I won't need a model like that for a while.

Not really, Mass Effect went superdark in Mass Effect 2, and if this is made to be set in the bombed out cities of Shanxi, then I'd imagine it would get pretty gritty.
Plus the sniper in the video could easily be inside an arcology, seeing how it's towering over everything else.
I seriously doubt this has anything to do with Mass Effect, but I would love it if it did.

Dude, imagine fighting Turians with gritty graphics, it would be amazing.
Imagine the Liberation of Shanxi with these graphics, the Battle of the Citadel was awesome enough, but Human cruisers plowing through Turian cruisers with Reach-esque graphics would be amazing.

CQC engagements. Enough said.
The FB fans, managed to decode one of the bar codes and discovered that it's the atomic mass of iron.
EDIT: And the other one is, as Canuhearme? said, the lowest recorded temperature on Earth.

And the other one is the coldest temperature ever recorded on Earth.
Yeah, just edited that part.
As far as I know, iron doesn't have any special properties in extremely low temperatures, but I could be wrong.
Update 4: And another QR code has been loosed upon the unsuspecting people of Twitter. This one is again some binary that translates into: 128.5°F. Converted to Celsius, that becomes -89.16666666666667°C. "The coldest temperature ever recorded on earth is -89.2 degrees Celsius (-128.5 degrees Fahrenheit) at Vostok, Antarctica on July 21, 1983," says Wikipedia; and this Mass Effect wiki page describes the Vostok solar system as "a medium system with four planets and an asteroid belt," itself named after the Soviet "Vostok Program" that resulted in the first manned space flight. Oh, and that asteroid belt that was mentioned? The wiki page calls it a "metal-rich asteroid." You know what else is metal? That's right, iron!
GUYS CHECK THIS OUT, FROM THE BIOWARE FORUMS
The two pictures are the atomic mass of iron and the coldest temperature recorded on Earth, right?
Mass of Fe, Coldest Temperature
Mass of FE C T
Mass Effect

My heart sinks tonight. But hey, at least we will be bros in the future <3
So, this new game is Bioware's 1st FPS and 3rd shooter (unless you take in account that mech game of theirs).
I hope that they won't screw up the gameplay mechanics.

Coincidence? Or is it that the ME2 dev team have too much time on their hands? If I were to 'take' some of that time away, would there be less easter eggs but less time to wait for the game? Either I'm heading over with my knife....

If the rumours are right. And so far they were.
I'd rather have a 3rd person shooter as well, but oh well, if they do it right, it may be better this way.

Thanks for staying on the topic of mass effect.

On the contrary, it could be the game that stops the notoriety of FPSs.
