When people are designing characters or whatever they've got to draw their inspiration from somewhere.
They did a whole hell of a lot better than say Star Trek. Klingons? Humans with ridges Andorians? BLUE humans with antennae Ferengi? Humans with massive ears and foreheads. Suliban? Humans with horribly dry, cracked skin. 2 of the 5 Xindi races are closely human.

I intern at a burn center.
Suliban for reference:
still looks like a burn victim to me, but more in a recovery stage. but that would've been one hell of a burn. [editline]13th October 2010[/editline] no, it's the Sandman.
When people are designing characters or whatever they've got to draw their inspiration from somewhere.
I know. I was pointing out that while other species are based off earth animals, Batarians are based off aliens. I found it interesting because they are all aliens but Batarians seem to be the only ones coming from an evolutionary path not seen on earth. I know they're all in somewhat different environments but Batarians are very different to others and only retain the humanoid traits seen on many different races. Humans have monkey features but Batarians don't seem to have come from any evolutionary line at all.

You see a surprising number of species with similar features in the show.
Krogans are a hell of a lot like crocodiles and other dinosaurs.
Instantly reminded me of this.
tyrannosaurus wrex
I love LotSB.

Mhmmm. No that Cosplay was a picture I saved if I was in it I'd be the douchebag Illusive man.
ME is a casual RPG, the Aliens are going to be relatable in an extremely human way for the most part. The exception are the Hanar and Reapers which instantly made Blasto f'in hilarious by juxtaposition. As for where ME came from, 80's sci-fi was the inspiration as stated by the design and story leads, and googling a little game called Star Control II will answer most questions.
I remember when i got banned for spoilers when i got pissed off on the first or second mass effect thread about one of the characters who in the commercials and previews was made out to be one of the main characters getting shot in the back of the head and dying the first five minutes into the game
Drew Mordin and a very creepy smiling Thane all glowing in the UV light. I love that light. So pretty. Thane haunts me with that smile forever now. What did I doooooo

Humans with slightly different ears. Romulans? Angry Vulcans.
Just listened to the Suicide mission OST again, fucking masterpiece.
You know what I mean. Turians are birdlike reptile humanoids, Salarians are lizard humanoids, Asari seem to be some kind of sea creature humanoids, Krogans are a hell of a lot like crocodiles and other dinosaurs. Batarians just seem to not fit any earth animal and are more based from human ideas of what aliens look like.
:raise:
Well crocodiles are close. I'd say they're more toads mixed with a crocodile.
:raise:
Crocodiles have been around since the Cretaceous Period, when dinosaurs were around. [editline]14th October 2010[/editline] That's over 80 million years. Compared to human's measily 200,000 years.
Still doesn't make them dinosaurs
Yeah, Turians are more like dinosaurs, considering birds (Neornithes) are dinosaurs.
I think funnycat is confused because he thought someone was saying that a crocodile was a dinosaur.
awesome how in Lotsb grunt searches for dinosaurs on the extranet
What is Lotsb.
Tyranosaurus Wrex [editline]14th October 2010[/editline] Lair of the Shadow Broker, the newest DLC. :iia:
Uh, ok. [img_thumb]http://www.cubeupload.com/files/f4b332yep.jpg[/img_thumb]
It takes a sicker mind than mine to look at an octopus and conjour up the concept of asari.
Tyranosaurus Wrex [editline]14th October 2010[/editline] Lair of the Shadow Broker, the newest DLC. :iia:
Ah. Haven't gotten it yet. :<
Get it. Now.
I will buy it.
In ME3, I want a Batarian squad member and a Elcor Crew Member. Also female Turians and Krogans.
female Turians = Garrus love plot = Garrus will cheat on me = not acceptable
