I never could buy into the whole "machines having feelings" thing, untill Legion played the recording of the first Geth to ask if it has a soul (or the first time the Quarians were scared about it). He had a child like innocence to the way he spoke to his creator, I kinda felt sorry for him/it.

It's possible they feel indebted to their creators for the havoc they wrought. After all, they drove the Quarians from their planet and forced them to live in a gigantic gypsy fleet where they have to wear biosuits because they die if you sneeze on them.

It wasn't really the Geth's fault, the Quarians struck first.
Although I do agree that the geth are looking after the Quarian homeworld until they come back and reclaim it, to be honest the Geth don't seem capable of holding grudges.
Honestly, I'd freak out a bit too if a robot thats supposed to know only how to clean asked me "Whats the meaning of my existence"

Well people have attempted AI previously in the ME universe and it basically always ends with the overlod making you compute pi.

They're building a Dyson Sphere esque station that'd house all Geth Programs. In ME2, it's been under construction for 216 or 261 years, forgot which.
Also, what's with the Old Machine pictures in Keji's Graybox?

Project: Overlord involves an autistic guy computing numbers all day, while Joker was worried about computing pi all day because he plugged in the Overlord.

It's evidence that the Reapers exist (specifically, the Reaper shown is Sovereign), which would be excellent proof to the Council. However, I don't know how the Alliance could be implicated.
