...Erm, there's three things wrong with this statement. I in no way really like Final Fantasy, by the way.
1. If you stabbed someone, then shot it, you're fucking retarded as he's pretty much dead anyway.
2. If you stabbed someone and shot it, it would still work. It'd just blow a fucking hole in the person (as the gases would still make the bullet go forward, hence shooting the gun.
3. I'm pretty sure it's meant as a one or the other thing, either using it as a gun or a sword.
However, the thing is still pretty fucking retarded. It's a blade that weighs probably upwards of five to ten pounds, and has a pistol grip, which means you have to shoot it one handed. And no sights.
But if you stab someone with it, blood would come into the barrel. I'm not sure if that's good...:hurr:

Actually the gunblade is a primitive High Frequency Blade, or Vibroblade. When you attack with it, you press R2 (the trigger) which fires off a shell, sending a shockwave down the blade, causing extra damage. The "ammunition" actually has no bullet, its just a cartridge of gunpowder.
