You might want to consider mentioning [i]Castle Wolfenstein[/i] & [i]Beyond Castle Wolfenstein[/i] in the OP. While they were not developed by id, they were ithe target of inspiration when creating Wolf 3D.

No. I'm a huge Metal Gear fan, Hideo Kojima has never cited Wolfenstein as his inspiration. And it's not really stealth.

Games were simple back then :v: The fact that you didn't have to kill all the enemies on screen made it already a stealth game.

And that the guards were all much more powerful than you and you had to rely on your knife and get sneaky kills. Sounds like a stealth game to me.

Killing someone with a knife doesn't automatically mean it was a stealth kill. Nor does stabbing the from behind. Wolfenstein is hardly a stealth game.

The first Metal Gear (not solid) was just basically running from enemies. That's not very stealthy either :haw: Even I know that and the only Metal Gear series game I've played was the original Metal Gear for S/NES.
