Sway me Facepunch. What would best suit me? Playstation 3 or an Xbox360? - Games

Sometimes i doubt that people have a slight idea what they're talking about when they say DVD>Blu-Ray. at best they're equal at a non HD-TV.

Blu-ray is undoubtedly better than DVD. It's not meant to make the film better, but it gives much higher picture and sound quality. DVD's are in no way useless, and are more than passable though. If I had the choice between DVD or not at all, I'd choose DVD. If I had a choice between DVD and Blu-ray, Blu-ray always wins.

Ps3.... better exclusives, 1080p ( if you got a big HD tv, its really awesome ).... it seems to me if you got a good gaming pc already, you dont need an xbox, but you do need the ps3 for the good ps3 exclusive games. xbl is a better online service though, then again it ain't free.

Buy both, i did.. never looked back.

And there will be patches to make newer games run anyway since they do just fine hacking PSP and that's had plenty of anti hacking attempts by sony including hardware changes but that hasn't stopped the PSP GO being hacked either.

PS3 personally, I've had a 360 since release and bought the PS3 when MGS4 was released. I've never bought a game for the 360 since, I don't see the point in it anymore because a few of the exclusives come to PC anyway and I can't really name many good ones off the top of my head. If you have a decent PC, the PS3 is the best option if you're looking at it from a game perspective. Plus Demon's Souls. Sure people will say one is better but most of the time they're trying to justify the payments. I would never considering purchasing gold anymore because of the PS3, it does what it does just as good. I agree with the new dashboard. I think it's personally disgusting and a bag of shit compared to the original 360 dashboard. Atleast the PS3s interface is clean and is more conistant.

If it was within the first few months then that makes sense, as the LBP servers weren't quite stable enough at that point. Almost all users suffered lag and disconnections.

I'd say Ps3 fits your description better.

It's still useless though considering the only real reason why I would see anyone ever using custom firmware on the ps3 is for piracy which requires otheros and there's one issue with this. OtherOS's hardware access is so piss poor the game would not run anyway.

I have both and my PS3 just broke my disc, all systems are unreliable but i would definitely choose a PS3 over a 360 anyday.

I have an Xbox fanboy at my school, and when I told him that both systems were pretty good, but the PS3 was better in MY opinion, he flipped out and starting yelling at me about how Xbox is better than every console, has the most exclusives, HD is better than bluray, and how Live is the coolest thing ever, AND finished with saying that Live is better than Playstation Network because the connection is perfect no matter what kind of internet you have, you can have the shittiest internet ever and still get the best connections always. :/ I have no hope for him.

Oh yeah, one extra bonus about the PS3 is that it does NOT have the New Xbox Experience. The NXE is THE ugliest, slowest, most confusing bullshit UI ever. And Avatars look stupid.
