:siren:MechWarrior 4 and all of its expansions are going to be released for FREE!:siren: This is too awesome for words, I was just complaining to some friends about having lost my CDs and now they're releasing it for free! Fuck. me.
mmmh, its nice to expect a new mechwarrior game, but the fight in the trailer was pretty lame. they just stood head to head and kicked each others shins with laser and missiles until one exploded. Not intense enough for a render movie
I hope the aiming is more like Mechwarrior 3 and not 4; Mechs aren't restricted to just aiming forward, they can aim at anything in front of them. Also, pilots eject in pods, not just themselves, and the pods launch much higher up to really high altitude and land away from the battlefield. The whole point of ejecting is to ensure the pilot gets as far away from his/her exploding mech and enemy units as possible. Apart from that, I'm REALLY looking forward to this!
I just came.
I think the best part of the concept thing they showed and the thing I like most as a whole is that everything seems realistic, as in the way it looks and the weapons fire, I just really hope they don't try to go casual too much because the hardcore players will be the ones playing it 3 years after it came out, casual players will buy it and maybe have a few weeks with it.

I hope to fuck that the cockpit view is like that in-game, with animations of the pilot's hands pressing buttons and shit, that'd be unnecessary but cool. Not like the shitty cockpits in MW4
FUCK the casual players, they all suck dick! Consoles and casual player ruining fucking everything these days.
Wahhh.
Makes me glad I bought an X52 Pro recently!
Goddamn that trailer is awesome beyond words.
i jizzed in my pants at the news of this game coming =p
Hell yes! Jordan Weisman (the FASA guy who created Battletech) is back! I hope this game will be more than just mech to mech fights. I'd like to fight in large combined arms battlefields and maybe have limited command over assets like air units or order a tank unit to flank the enemy.
I hope it was ingame . Because it looked so.
I hope it was ingame . Because it looked so.
It said in the corner that it was. Also, retarded mech pilot is retarded. you could see the Atlas through the smoke, but he runs right up to it. Cool trailer =/= Realistic gaming.
The atlas had too few weapons.
The atlas had too few weapons.
And it didn't even do anything. It waited so long to actually use its rockets and it one-shotted him.
What's the point of an ejection system if you just land in a nuke?
That was the mech having a reactor meltdown. Things explode when they take tons of damage.
That was the mech having a reactor meltdown. Things explode when they take tons of damage.
This. Though, he's right in a sense, it should have taken him away, as well as up.
This. Though, he's right in a sense, it should have taken him away, as well as up.
They probably just did that for the trailer so they could have the explosion into the logo.
They probably just did that for the trailer so they could have the explosion into the logo.
Obviously, but as I said, it's a bit silly. O HAI I SAW AN ATLAS THERE I WONDER IF HE'S FRIENDLY
Obviously, but as I said, it's a bit silly. O HAI I SAW AN ATLAS THERE I WONDER IF HE'S FRIENDLY
Makes me wonder whether they'll have melee attacks in this game.
MechWarrior has been summarized.
I hope it was ingame . Because it looked so.
There's a difference between a faked scripted "cutscene" done in the game engine on max graphics and souped up textures running on a super computer with a recorder that records every frame at a crazy high resolution (this is how trailer footage for games are made), compared to REAL in-game footage. That video was about as in-game as a final fantasy cutscene was in-game. Just because they "filmed" the footage in the same engine they are using to make the game in doesn't mean what they showed was actual gameplay or how it will look at all (newsflash: it won't).

I will buy this even if it's shit. I hope they take this series back to the way they had it when FASA ran things. I hope this brings more people into the Mechwarrior community, so we can look forward to more games.
Great, I've been wanting a new Mechwarrior game for a while now. MechAssault doesn't count.
Mechwarriors 2 was my first game ever, it was fucking awesome even though I really sucked and could only kill stuff as the timber wolf
What's the point of an ejection system if you just land in a nuke?
I'm pretty sure the original eject was an actual rocket pod that launched into high orbit, but I'm not sure.
Hey guys, you know what this means! (MW4 & Stuff being free) Repopulated Online Community!
Those suckers! I was just about to buy another copy of Mechwarrior 4! I love them! Making Mechcommander free was great, and now this!
:siren:The game package won't be out for at least a few weeks.:siren: :sigh:
