Hey, I loved MechCommander! Especially the first one. I never understood why the second one had like, a quarter of the polygon count per mech.
The mechs in Mech Commander 1 were actually sprites, not models. And they looked far better than the crappy low-poly mechs in MC2.
I miss EarthSiege 2. :(
I miss EarthSiege 2. :(
I miss starsiege. Seriously that game kicked arse.
I miss starsiege. Seriously that game kicked arse.
Tribes. :D Oh wow Starsiege, why did I never play this. Bah, I can't find any link to Starsiege with actual screenshots.

Never, ever seen sprites look that convincing, when you zoom in, it's practically impossible to tell that they're not 3d. I was so disappointed when I saw the models in #2...

What the hell are you people bitching about? MechCommander 2 was fucking awesome, so much better than the first. The 3D models were fine for their time, any more detailed and it probably would've caused serious framerate issues for the computers of those years.(1997-2001) The controls were a little simpler, sure, but does that really make it a worse game? It was immensely fun to play and I'd say that's all the matters.

I haven't personally played any previous MechWarrior games, but if it's anything like the mech-simulator, Steel Battalion, count me in. Steel Battalion had what I thought was one of the most unique online setups I have ever seen. I'm still hating myself for getting rid of my Xbox... That game was near perfect and the controls were amazing...

Steel Battalion was awesome. Of course i played it at this LAN center I used to go to before it went out of business.
YES YES YES FUCKING YES!!!! And it looks awsome
Mechcommander 2 but they could of worked on the mech models more
Mechcommander 2 but they could of worked on the mech models more
You know , old games usualy have shitty graphics. [editline]02:15PM[/editline] Oh and mechcommander 2 is free , just as mechwarrior 4.
OH YES OH YES OH YES OH YES One of my most favorite game series is getting an official addition! Now we have this AND living legends!!! [editline]08:30AM[/editline] There better be shadow cats
wasn't mechwarrior that game with the little suits that let you steal mechs and shit MECHJACK
wasn't mechwarrior that game with the little suits that let you steal mechs and shit MECHJACK
That was mechassault which isn't as awesome. Also I hope this game has just about the same control scheme as mech4 so I can map stuff on my joystick easily. Quick everyone show their joysticks! (And I don't mean dildos, vibrators or penises)
I have only looked over the reviews, and I must say THIS BETTER BE LIKE 1-4, NOT the mech assaults, I like to CUSTOMIZE my mechs damn it, to the major extent like Mechwarrior 1-4 had, if this does a mechassault, "Mechs come pre-designed and you can't customise them" kinda bull, then Im going to be one pissed mechwarrior fan.
The Longbow or Catapult better be in this game, I loved filling EVERY slot with SRM6 launchers in MW4: Mercenaries, then running around and instagibbing anything under 50 tons. (Well, near enough, mine is the Force 3D Pro, bought specifically for playing Mechwarrior because force feedback in MW4 is sexiful)

Also how are you using an xbox 360 controller for mech4?
Mine is USB. Also how are you using an xbox 360 controller for mech4?
There's pinnacle that can be used to set up bindings for it, and I imagine with a bit of messing around it'll work hell it even works with X-Wing which is 15 years old.
Now that I am thinking, I could theoretically see how a 360 controller would work for MW4. It would not be as good as a mouse/ joystock/ or keyboard, but still, it could work.
:smug:
Snap :)
I get the feeling that your joystick come with a DAB digital radio built in (Thats what the LCD screen reminds me of)
No, the screen displays time/timer, what the current button being pressed does, and the current profile/mode being used. the X52 Pro (I have the regular Saitek X52) has a more adjustable screen which can be used like the screen on the Logitech G15 keyboard.
