Reading through this thread makes me really wish I could play this game.
I played it for about an hour today (how nice of them to not tell me there's a play time until the actual day of the play time).
Has a nice in-depth character customization. From what I've seen it has good choices for moves, and an at least somewhat in-depth statistical system.
Now I need something to do for 2 weeks while I wait for the open beta...
If they have an whole weekend of testing I am going to be super pissed because I am going to be away from the house for the whole weekend..

Just got a key from Ten Ton Hammer. I'm looking forward to the next time the servers will open. When will that be?
I just pre-ordered it so I could get into the open beta.
But it took me 30 seconds to get one from ten ton hammer just now, to get into the CLOSED beta.

Well that was sort of the Closed beta. Anyone who signed up for that magazine got a free key to play in
Closed beta (though honestly its only for a short while)Soon Open Beta will be around the corner, and I think that's only for people who preordered the game. So yeah.. You'll have to pay to try it out :/
Ohh... I just noticed Champions is going to have a Lifetime subscription option like LOTRO. I wonder if its $200 like LOTRO was (or around that I think).

It's also worth mentioning (incase you ask) that the magazines offer of free beta keys has long been over.
Hmm, after playing today, it seems to me that the controls and movement are a lot "clunkier" than City of Heroes. But it is in beta, after all.
Just felt to me like the button presses (especially the movement keys) didn't correspond quickly enough to your character performing the intended action.
You can still get keys from Ten Ton Hammer.
It took me about 30 tries, but mine eventually worked.

TTH still works? I didn't know that. I had a few friends try it out (mind you many more times than you had to) and they got nothing. Empty handed.
I guess all you guys that are wishing for a key and want to play ASAP this weekend can try TTH.
