So I'm pretty late to this here, people keep talking about Chet, what stream would he be on if he showed up?
Well they linked to the main stream (Which I think is gametrailers only stream)
Peter Molyneux: The Microsoft conference was very professional, the Nintendo one a little less. what.
Well, it's true. Though Nintendo's was obviously better as they had some humor, whereas MS's was all "blahblahblah with the power and magic of Kinect"
They are not even mentioning chet at all. I think they lied.
oh my god the woman wood chick is on g4
guys guys LEGO las LEGOOO las
I personally think that all the hate for Nintendoland and Wonder Book and similar is rather stupid. Not every game should have to have hardcore tits and guns and gore for it to be good, what is wrong with developing games that are outside of that stuff?
Thats fine and all but it's not something you would ever want to show at a trade shown designed to generate buzz and show what you can do, and where you can take the industry. Especially when 90% of those involved in the trade show are your dedicated hardcore market, where individuals in that market spend MUCH more money on game related media than the casual market. Casual markets aren't the type of markets interested in trade shows, and they're not the type to care about hype or get into hype. They are the type that sees a game on the shelf, thinks it'll be a good gift for xmas, then buys it. They are the type that sees a game being played on Oprah and/or hears about little timmy down the street getting the game, generating buzz. They don't generate hype or interest on their own, they just exist and are bought more and more as time goes on. Why would you primarily focus on products that aren't designed as system sellers, and aren't ever going to benefit from hype/blockbuster build up, and have zero appeal to the hardcore game-buying market, in your big enthusiast trade show of the year?
I'm mad that the first time we ever get the chance to play as a female assassin in Assassins Creed that they decide to do so on the PS Vita................really? Oh and the Splinter Cell game looks like it's swaying away from its original stealth style gameplay and into more action based.
Where's Chet?
the new splinter cell is gonna be fucking garbage

Looked really good.
LOL Heavy Rain's plot had more holes in it than swiss cheese, including one that completely broke it. David Cage is a pretentious twat who can't write for shit, at least not as far as I can see. Maybe he'll prove himself otherwise with Beyond though.
hmmmm nope. or do you not realize that "writing" encompasses way more than just the plot? in fact, the plot is one of the least impressive aspects of writing, given that all storylines have been told in one way or another. the story was old and told before, but what hasn't? not to mention you have to separate plot and premise; HR's premise was very good and it's plot was good. the way in which it delivered was fresh and impressive, the dialogue was fantastic, and, as I said before, narrative conventions such as plants/payoffs and narrative structure were toyed with in interesting ways. he can write for shit, you just have no idea what you're talking about. I'm not saying there weren't plot holes, but when you're compromising your writing with a major studio shit like that happens. if you know anything about the tv or movie industry, you'd know that this is the case for many incredible movies. take paddy chayefsky's last movie for instance. is he a shit writer?
Last one was, too.
I was enthralled with Heavy Rain even with the plot, that moment with the detective dude as a kid watching his brother drown in a drain completely helpless really got to me.
that's my point. on a micro as a opposed to a macro level it was very, very well written. people who have never written a screenplay don't understand how important character interaction is from a scene-to-scene basis, and not on a macro level. people on here apparently fail to recognize this that's why there were so many incredibly memorable character moments in Heavy Rain; it was about characters and the human experience, and not about an overarching story. people that don't realize that didn't get the game, sorry.
