The wiiu is like an oversized single-screen DS. And the new wii design is shit because I can't play gamecube games on it. They made it smaller, but removed gamecube capablilties. And that's terrible.
I guess I was just expecting more exciting surprises, it's just been a rather boring E3 so far.
Tomb Raider is my most anticipated game for next year...so far! (Notice I said next year)
Forza Horizon guys...
I think E3 was disappointing more for the things that weren't show than those that were. [editline]6th June 2012[/editline]
The wiiu is like an oversized single-screen DS.
I guess I was just expecting more exciting surprises, it's just been a rather boring E3 so far.
There is still another day Still though, Wii U really had the chance to steal the show. It's the E3 right before it launches, and we still know pretty much the same information about it that we had last year at E3 when it was first announced. No release date (other than this holiday), no price point, and worst of all, there were no "killer apps" shown at all for it (the closest thing to it is Pikmen 3). Just more of the same stuff we already knew - the only difference is this time we know what will likely come "pre-installed" on the system (nintendoland), and how the final controller is. And I guess that there is 3rd party support, but let's not kid ourselves- we knew we'd probably get some of that anyways seeing as the Wii U will be up to current gen specs. There's some cool stuff shown about the Wii U no doubt, but half of it we already knew, a third of it is just ports, and a small chunk are interesting titles that seem nice but don't really "sell" the system for anyone. Worst of all critical information is STILL missing about the device, and the thing is supposed to launch this year. We already knew that Sony and Microsoft weren't going to talk about next-gen at all this year, so that left them with talking about how they'll actually make their established stuff at last E3 really good this year (move, Vita, kinect)... but they didn't really do that at all. The only interesting or new thing that's really turned heads or surprised is Watch Dogs, that Final Fantasy tech demo, and (hopefully) the Unreal Engine 4 tech demo that's going to happen tomorrow. These are all really new and interesting things that really turn heads. And when tech demos that are totally hands off and not meant to be anything more than a teaser as the only thing really piquing interest across the whole show at E3, then that's a problem for the show and it makes it really lame. At least we know next year will probably be really really good (like... 2006 good). Thanks to new showings of the next gen consoles, Nintendo's post-mortem and long-term plan for Wii U, and a lot of developers being allowed to actually show off stuff for such consoles. Right now the consoles, and a lot of major developers, are in their twilight years so there isn't much to really "show", but they still could have gone out with a bang instead of a fizzle, especially since they still have properties that need some love and serious development put into them to make them actually relevant for consumers (like the Vita and Kinect).
If I was a parent I would buy the WiiU on launch most likely. Just throwing that out there.

Don't they still have unreal engine 4 to show? And comeon, still no info about big picture mode?
Pikmin 3 looks exactly like Pikmin 2.
have you even PLAYED pikmin 2, because with that statement you obviously haven't
You still have a Wii, don't you?
Why did he throw out his gamecube in the first place? Also they're not that expensive if someone wants another
I, for one, am greatly excited for Pikmin 3.
it's pretty much 90% of my current reason to get a wii u i spent hours playing pikmin 1 and 2 when i was younger and it's really one of nintendo's greatest yet most underrated franchises
I liked the first one I never played the second one though
2nd one is much better than the first one, but they're both good games
I remember in, like, sixth grade my friends and I came up with four or five new Pikmin. Also we decided that Olimar would be trapped on the Pikmin Planet so it was up to his family to go and save him. *Scientist Pikmin: Fuzzball rather than flower, can't fight. However, they can teleport treasure/enemies directly to the ship. *Clown Pikmin: Pink fuzzball rather than flower, polka-dotted bodies, yellow eyes. They can throw/juggle enemies while attacking. *Sand Pikmin: No flower. When thrown, they collapse into a puddle of quicksand that mires enemies. If they are burned, they turn into Glass Pikmin, harder, heavier, stronger, and slower than purple pikmin. *Flying Pikmin: Forgot what color they were. They could fly but were weak against air enemies (like blowhogs) *BB Pikmin: Small and pink, but turn giant and green when attacked. A big no-prize to anyone who gets the reference. *USA/Japan Pikmin: They have the country's flag atop their stem. The USA Pikmin has a blue starry head and a red/white striped body, while the Japan Pikmin has a white body with a red spot on their chest. They can take the role of another captain and lead a group of Pikmin. I would find and scan the picture that I drew but I can't be bothered to. [sup][sup]Also I only played Pikmin 2 but never the first one[/sup][/sup]

as much as i love smash bros i can't see the next one being all that different from brawl
Beyond actually sounds pretty sweet, apparently it's a mixture of Ghost Trick and Heavy Rain. Ghost Trick is amazing so this should at least be good (heavy rain is alright)
I think they missed the point when they said they wanted to bring back horror in RE6, all they did was change it back to 'zombies' there's still stupid quicktime events and enemies flying at you and explosions and running around blasting stuff and kung fu finishing moves.
it's capcom, what did you expect
it's capcom, what did you expect
Anything but Mega Man.
For it it's gotta be Watch Dogs, Sleeping Dogs, Dishonored, Borderlands 2, Zombie U, Last of Us, and some other stuff I need to look up because I missed it today probably. Holy shit I think i can hear crickets singing, where did all you guys go? I know it's fairly late in E3, but there is still a show floor day left!
Anyone have a link to the 3DS conference?
Anyone have a link to the 3DS conference?
http://e3.nintendo.com/ starts in about 50 minutes.
as much as i love smash bros i can't see the next one being all that different from brawl
Brawl was far different than Melee, so I can't see why not. Maybe they could expand the story mode to be even more complex and possibly serious, though that may not work well.
Don't know if late, in depth Zombi U video: http://www.ign.com/videos/2012/06/06/zombiu-wii-u-developer-demo-e3-2012
Brawl was far different than Melee, so I can't see why not.
