I sold my Gamecube and got a Wii.
I regret doing that.
You must have done that recently 'cuz older models of the Wii were backwards compatible and could play gamecube games.

Still have that backwards compability, and I love it.
Does anyone know where I can find a list of all games Nintendo announced on E3 as a whole? Cause I remember when they announced Smash Bros Brawl after the conference, at night.
Well E3 was a little disappointing as I didn't really see anything new or interesting, but at least I was able to make this cool new Steam avatar out of it.

I was originally going to use this

But I thought it was too much lol
I'd say this E3 was WAY better than last year's. Microsoft and EA completely shat themselves on stage, Ubisoft had [del]tribal tits and girl wood[/del] WATCH_DOGS. Sony was fiddling around with that dumb book thing but otherwise showed off some fairly neat stuff. And Nintendo was just doing their thing like always.
I will say that what I've seen this E3; I've been won over and I plan on Pre ordering a Wii U, provided it's cheap (For a new console that is, and hopefully it will be)
So here's hoping they get their shit together for next year's e3 for an all around GOOD show

I know, that was why I sold it. I regret selling my Gamecube because I was much more attached to it than my Wii, which I've only played a few times.
Didn't the LA Kings play in the staples center tonight? Must be chaotic having E3 and the Stanley Cup Finals in adjacent buildings.
You know what game I really want to see come back in the near future?

Too bad this will never happen because it's owned by Rare. :T
And man, this music is much cheesier than I remember. Guess it's the nostalgia that made it sound good.
the Unreal engine 4 demo is today, can't wait to see what they have in store
all these PS3 exclusives that look absolutely fucking amazing are making me feel pissed off for my lack of a PS3
I want to play these goddammit

As soon as the PS3 gets another price drop, I'll get one. Still a bit too expensive for my poor wallet.
Today's the last day, guys.
I sure wonder what those 3 secret games are.
Portal 3, Half Life 3 and Left 4 Dead 3!
We could only hope... :\
[editline]7th June 2012[/editline]
lol I'm just kidding it's going to be Call of Duty for Kinect, Halo for WiiU, and Gear of War on Facebook!
Geez, I want that new Pikmin game, even if the crystal Pikmin does seem like some random pimkin oc character donut's stale etc etc. Still got a gamecube with the first 2 Pik'ms on it, although I've never tried the first. Pah, global time limits. I'm legendarily slow at it, so the chances of me beating it are lower than nil.
Guess this shouldn't really be "new" to anyone, but how do you lot feel about this?

Basically, most, if not all, of the games that were showcased during the conferences, you know, the ones with amazing graphics, were played on Computers. The controllers and pads were just for show. It's pretty dishonest, IMO.
...after the initial explosion of senses-overwhelming glitz and glamour, I started taking stock of the show’s inner workings. And you know what? Turns out, this is a PC gaming event – perhaps moreso than anything else.
I wouldn't call it dishonest. It's much easier to use controllers at a show like this both on stage and in the booths. I would, however, like to see this point made more public as a lot of journalists I've seen have been reporting "amazing graphics and high framerates" as if this was something that players would experience on the console version, which obviously won't be true.
In the classic Mario games 100 coins = lives, so you're buying 1-ups sort of, in the 3D Mario games 100 yellow coins/5 red coins = star, so you're buying stars sort of, in the Mario Party and the RPGs coins were used for all sorts of things, in Luigi's Mansion coins are used to buy a not-haunted house at the end of the game, in Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart: Super Circuit (The GBA one) coins were sort of used as hit points, and in the WarioLand games coins had a couple of uses, though the main idea was that Wario really loves money and just wants to get more of it.
As far as lore goes however there's no way to answer simply because the lore of the Mario franchise is a gigantic nonsensical clusterfuck and Nintendo makes no effort to establish any sort of continuity or canon. The only things that aren't disputable are the things that Nintendo personally clarified, which is pretty much limited to Mario & Luigi having never lived in Brooklyn, Birdo being female, and the Donkey Kong from Donkey Kong Country not being the same character as the Donkey Kong from the arcade games. Almost everything else is debatable.
Interesting, the only thing I can really sympathize with is the whole Luigi buying a non haunted house. Because as you said most of the lore doesn't make much sense and wario from what I hear is a bit of a jackass.
So this question may get the same answer, but are any other people aside from enemies or antagonists mentioned or met in the mario games? I'm not a big mario fan but I really liked the richness of the sound design in luigi's mansion.

Why would you want a portal 3 and l4d 3? the second iteration of those games came out pretty recently.

'twas a joke my boy... Although you should never cancel out the possibilities! :D
Oh and L4D2 came out almost three years ago...

I don't know as far as l4d2 is concerned it's still fairly recent... 3 years or no.
Also I'm a little concerned about your use of the phrase 'cancel out'. Because that means there must be a negative of whatever positive game sequel there is.
Tell me, are you anticipating l4d-3?
So when is the UE4 demo going to be showcased?
5ish hours from now? i think
So were any more games announced? No big ones or anything? What is left to come today

Well from your condescending comments it feels as if you don't want any sort of sequel to the games I listed. Of course I'm anticipating L4D3 but I don't expect to see it anytime soon. I've always loved the L4D series and would like to see it revisited again.
[editline]7th June 2012[/editline]
I'd rather Half Life 3 over any of those.
