Space Station 13 V3 - Games

You host to moderate and service, not to play. You take complaints and you file them. It's not hard

That's what it felt like. Now you know why we stopped. But that's not why we started. I showed Mald the game, he said "lets host for a day or two" and it turned into that run we had.

Sure we weren't ever praised as the greatest server ever but we were on par with the Goons for a while and that's all that mattered. Like you said. Only SA and FP got mad at us and that's because we were taking something away from you guys. Players. And I released the source code because that's the only way we'd ever get another official FP server.

I never had a problem with any server, I was in malds/rappers daily at one point and rarely got griefed and had some good games, then again I didn't really seem to piss anyone off or make huge bombs and whatnot, just build my house outside in space infront of the captains bridge :smug: plus i liked the original station more so I didn't really ever go to goons

Goonstation is miles ahead of the other servers because of the official SS13 developers deciding to be fucking stupid and switch back and forth from being open source. I'm not mad, I'm irritated because you are still fucking posting here even though nobody gives two shits about what you have to say. I'm glad Pinut remembers some good, I mean some people do, but it's mostly how I was a good Host and knew how to run an RP server, not really about the content that my server released, which was basically nothing. I'd love to host a strict RP server again, but most people would not join just because of Goon's flashiness.

I don't see where much hate is coming from, did the server somehow turn to shit after I got bored of the game (can usually play a couple week and then never touch it again for 6month and get the urge again) or did the people that get banned cause a shit storm?

I forgot to mention earlier, we not only started off as a fun, joke around FP server, but we strided to be a serious RP server. We ideally wanted a server of 20-25 loyals who'd dedicate their time to acting out a character on a space station. We never dreamed we'd reach near double that amount.

Man I wish I had screen shots of my server, sometimes I'd get on and only be able to answer adminhelps, or doing special build competitions, making it sandbox and letting people change around parts of the station and the winners got their part put ingame.

I kind of want to make a spin-off of SS13 without the plasma, have the station revolve around something else.

But plasma is what leads to fires and explosions. Those are the main problems players face in SS13.

there's other ways to make fire and explosions

so...can we host our own goonstation 13 servers yet?

You get a sandbox panel and can do whatever you want, and it's usually empty. If there are players, spawn a cloaking device. There's a lot of people who like joining sandbox servers just to spawn themselves an ak-47 and kill everyone they see.
