That doesnt mean he died, that's a deathsound from if zombies killed him when in the campaign, just like Alyx dies in the campaign, she doesnt die in the storyline.

Grigori doesn't have that many soundfiles to work with. The only plausible replacement would be Bill or Rochelle. And that would be either weird or heartbreaking.

Grigori was one of my favorite characters in half life 2.
Father grigori is the most badass character in Half Life 2 hands down. He deserves a return to zombie destruction in the ice caves of episode 3 meeting you by kicking down a door and shooting a zombie over your shoulder.
