the way the sun works different now I beleive, a couple posts on the offcial forums states the sun "travels across the land" the world doesn't just get darker the darkness moves towards you.

You know what I wanna see? AA support, minecraft is beautiful with Better Lighting and AA, but it usually turns on the dreaded grid mode.
