On another note, I'm starting to get back into Minecraft again. The more I read this thread the more I miss how much I used to play the game. The only problem now is I don't have any ideas for what to do on a newly genned map. Any ideas? :downs:

Only read the posts with ratings, and if a post with ratings has a quote, read the quote too. That way you can read only the most artistic, funny, or vital posts.
Ive always thought about making a custom map with just one tree. However the tree is the map. You cant dig for resources, instead you have to make your way through the giant tree, and the closer you get to the center of it, the better materials.
So how did the social experiment on Neons go? I was on for a bit, but there was way too much griefing/ not following rules.

First attempt lead to a major breakdown in organization and large increases in crime. In other words, someone started griefing, then someone started killing everyone, and we left the server for another. It worked pretty well in the beginning though.
Edit: Oh yeah, what happened after. We attempted the other server, but it didn't seem to be going to well, I left eventually when I didn't see anything happen.
Buying Alpha was great and all; and I understand the fact that there WILL be problems in updates; but christ, that's what you've got a team for, to pull out the bugs so Minecraft doesn't lag like a piece of shit.
Is there any way to keep Minecraft from automatically updating? I want to wait for the bugs in beta to be fixed before I switch.

Yeah it was fun for a bit. But then people started crafting their own shit and others started killing one another. Also hitman looked like a zombie and he freaked me out :(.
