What exactly is meant by "server-side inventory" ?

I think the reason everything is messed up is that Notch probably tried to optimize the way chunks are updated, but he set the distance to update really close. Instead of having them loaded early, they wait until you are about 2 chunks away, and you start lagging when you suddenly get 100 chunks loading at once.

Anyone got a server up right now? I can host if not

Meaning people can't give themselves items [b]and[/b] items won't get lost while moving them around chests and such.

I think this "rare secret" is simply the chance of chickens spawning with eggs. Nothing too special.
