Notch hasn't been active for over 14 hours, so I don't know what's going on. Also, Multiplayer has been lagging like hell since Beta came out, so nothing new.

I realize this probably sounds strange as hell, but is there any way to save the skin you're currently using if you lost the original file you loaded in your preferences?

I made a skin for minecraft a while ago that I like, and I'm currently using it in the game.
However the computer I made it on, and had the skin saved on, has crashed. I had to reinstall the computer it was saved on, and the computer sadly still won't work.
Because of this, I can't get my skin back.

So is there any way I could load my current skin I use in the game, and save it on this computer?
So my skin won't be lost forever if I want to change my appearance sometime.

Beta is so buggy, on multiplayer, if you drop your weapon and pick it back up, you get about 10 back - this fills your inventory up, and the best part if you can't actually use them.

I'm sorry if I'm really late, but I just bought Minecraft in time for the Beta patch and it still being cheap. My question is, are there any particularly good texture packs out there?

There's one on youtube which uses the textures from Oblivion, and it looks amazing. I'm looking for something high res or pretty-looking. I've been playing it practically non-stop so I'm getting a bit tired of the blocky textures.
