Though he does get alot of money for the little work he does.
I feel that the situation is somewhere in between people who say "Wow Notch is a lazy fucker who makes pile of shit" and people who say "Notch is amazing, we are the bug testers, stop bitching."
It's a little annoying when basic features that worked before got broken, and the fact that he didn't get the game forward instead of backward. The update seems rushed, like everything. He even admits to it.
People have the right to complain at this point. When a game goes from being playable to unplayable it IS frustrating. I can't play now, and I had a few hours of my day just to relax and play with friends. The server is laggy now, the items can be super-duped, and some other random glitches just doesn't make it as fun.
I'm glad he made server side inventory work. But he should have tested more and let us play the mostly-working version until he was SURE it wouldn't upset the majority of people with bugs.
So, in conclusion, don't be super negative about the situation, but also don't be a Notch hugger and think that he didn't mess up. I have hope, but it seemed the updates were so much more content-filled and frequent a couple months ago.

He has 8 hours per day, 5 days per week to dev Minecraft. I'm beginning to think that 7 hours of that is messing around with the other people at Mojang.
I really wish that people would stop sucking Notch's dick.
When I paid for the game I expected a few bugs here and there, but what I did not expect was for the game to become unplayable after an update which is supposed to fix bugs and bring the game forward. He is lazy, maybe if he and his team decided to actually put some time in to testing the game instead of rushing the updates at the last minute, we wouldn't be having these problems now.

Alpha and Beta are testing stages. You are playing a game which is in public testing.

I get the impression that notch is just as much about making players happy as getting cash.
