They take far longer than they should to load and attempting to render them at a distance is absolute shit because the fog doesn't obscure the edges properly. 32x32x32 chunks are the same size (in bytes) as chunks currently are now (16x16x256) and would take the same amount of time to send to the clients (does notch even do any compression..?). A higher Z limit would be really cool, cus then the Nether could be deep under the bedrock layer (but still impossible to get to, obviously) and be simulated at the same time as the overworld.

But the Nether and the world aren't to scale. 1 block in the Nether is 16 blocks in the world, so you couldn't have them on top of each other.
Do you know if Notch will ever add any sort of guns? (like adding muskets, not modern firearms.)

Isn't minecraft sorta set like pre stone ages? Muskets and stuff wouldn't fit the theme at all.

I've been poking around, don't see any sign of the update even happening other than the downloading of an update.
The version number isn't even different.

Bettergrass just makes grass appear on the side of some dirt blocks. That's a combination of bettergrass and another grass mod.
