I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but on the server I run for my friends, we're experiencing some sort of weird problem where the game seems to delete squares out of our map, effectively destroying one of our towns. It can't be greifing, I know everyone on the server at all times. Anyone else have this problem?
Adding the finishing touches to this save.
So, my mum bought herself a copy, and I had to show her how it all worked, trying to help her learn how to use the interface and all the basics. But even then, she didn't have the fast reactions and whatnot to cope with the mobs. She barely managed to take out a Spider and a Creeper with a Stone Sword from the safety of the makeshift shelter, only to exit and end up falling prey to another Spider.
I guess it's not really the game for her, although she liked the crafting part.

I was playing SMP with some friends months ago and there were times when things would randomly explode or burst into flames. It would happen every hour or so and last about 15 minutes.

Same with my friends server, except instead of things spontaneously combusting, lava/water would randomly appear.
