I tried to reinstall java.

Download the new version of Java.

It works in the browser, but in the client it crashes. I already emailed notch about it, but he can't be arsed to raise his fat ass and get to work...

I want to play in the client because I want to download mods for Minecraft.

If you can log in, and play alpha mode then your account is premium. You could also log in and press preferences, and if you can see and change your skin its premium too.

See I installed the pet mod, and got into game and noticed hand held torch wasnt working. so I reinstalled hand held torch and now it does that. no matter what.

Also, you're not safe anywhere with ogres around. I was going to build a house, then a ogre came and smashed it to pieces. I managed to finish him off with my bow, but my house was now a pile of wood spread around. Good thing I got my shelter not far away
