• Xbox Kinect - Who's getting one and what games look best to you?

I can't understand the blind hate most people have for the Kinect. Sure, it might have shitty launch games on it and it may not be very innovating on the EyeToy but then again the Move is not very innovating on the WiiMote either, it's only more "precise", all of this is just blind Microsoft hate.
I am only trying to make a discussion without sounding like a 1337 /b/tard. A discussion requires information and personal opinion. The combination of the two provide a means of communication rather than a "Get the kinect y/n?" or "Kinect games good?" or "Kinect sucks, get (insert other console here)"
Discussing in a normal manner does not mean be over informative, excited, positive and overly willing to tell everyone that this thing is the best thing ever and that you should rush out to your nearest retail game seller and purchase Xbox™ 360 Kinect™ for a $20 credit offer and a free month of Xbox Live™ Gold Membership
is more correct than you think, some dude playing dance stars or whatever (i have no idea what it's called) followed the steps perfectly but the game only registered half of what he did.

Everything I said was my personal opinion and I said I was interested in getting it and what games I like out of what is available. For being over informative I sure didn't get anything to you properly.
I'm interested in getting Kinect but mostly for Steel Battalion: Heavy Armour.
i'm getting kinect, cant wait and to those saying its crap because theres no buttons, MS have said there are going to be hybrid games using the controllers

I played The Fight (fighting game obv) on the convention and my character imitated my moves perfectly, and not just hand movement, but torso, hips, arms etc.

Why have I bought 2 Xboxs and 2 360s? Why do half my games have Microsoft Game Studios on the case? It's not blind Microsoft hate, it's specific hate on a waste of money that just copies the Wii. The blind Kinect support is more annoying because they praise the shitty Launch titles despite the fact that the Wii alread has all these games.
I figured I might as well get it, I have the space for it in my room. Then I saw the price. 150€ 800x600 webcam, 10€. 640x480 infrared webcam, 20-30€ Taxes, shipping etc. 20-30€ I'm not paying 50-70€ for the software.

I'm not blindly supporting the Kinect in any way. We all have our opinions. But when I provide solid fact, you can't deny it. The Kinect isn't just a webcam, it's nothing like the Wii and it's responsiveness is left to be determined by those who buy it. And most people from what I have read and seen in videos have nothing bad to say about its responsiveness. PSMove is a rip off of the Wii. You can't deny that in any way. It looks and functions the exact same. Does that make it terrible to have? Not at all. Each company provides a different selection of games for their software. Microsoft have just released Kinect with some launch titles, as every other company does with their new products. And yes, most if not all are going to shitty. They almost always are. Do I need to go back to when PS3 had no game? Look at it now. It has more exclusive titles than the Xbox or the Wii. It's not blind Kinect support. It's Blind Kinect Hate. You judge something by its cover. You determine its bad because you do not have it and think its dumb. Your opinion is not fact.
People say that PS Move is a rip off of the wii, when kinect has shitty party games that exactly copy the wii. [editline]5th November 2010[/editline]
PSMove is a rip off of the Wii. You can't deny that in any way.
lol. I have a completely un-biased opinion since I own neither a wii, PS3 or xbox. I have tried all three's motion controls and the PS3 comes out on top. It's mm perfect and has some great launch titles. Actually I recently bought a PS3.

Sorry, sounds like the Move. Also, Fable III will probably be the first "good" Kinect title. But fine: Hate on a specific Microsoft product. I'm sorry, I also still cannot understand why people who support the Move can confidently say that the Kinect is a copy of the Wii. All the Move does better than the Wii is more precise movements. The Kinect is at least a full motion system, even though it is a shitty no-innovation remake of the EyeToy.
People say that PS Move is a rip off of the wii, when kinect has shitty party games that exactly copy the wii.
If that's all your basing it off of you are a fool. Every system has party games. The PS Move is such a BLATANT ripoff of the Wii it's ridiculous. Kinect is innovative, and while flawed, will pave the way for future technologies.

Also "But when I provide solid fact, you can't deny it." sounds very pretentious, especially when you end with "Your opinion is not fact." And yes Move is pretty shit too, none of these motion technologies give enough precision anyway.
probably they have not taken time to calibrate it, out the box its accuracy is good but after calibrating in different lighting and times it gets really good
I'm sure the Kinect is there so that people will see it and buy it. People won't buy it if it doesn't perform almost flawless.

Also innovative =/= good.
And Kinect is a ripoff the Eyetoy. Also "But when I provide solid fact, you can't deny it." sounds very pretentious, especially when you end with "Your opinion is not fact."
Kinect functions entirely different from the eyetoy. Far more accurate and is incorporated into the functions of the machine as well as game. The Eyetoy hardly did any of that. And is it not true? Opinions are not facts. The basis of the argument seems to be its a blatant rip off of the Wii and the Move. How? Because it has party games? That's hardly enough. Microsoft had to release something to their audience while other developers worked on their titles. Saying it's not worth a buy is an opinion, saying it's not worth the buy because it's copying the Wii is taking opinion and twisting a fact.
How? Because it has party games?
Because it can ONLY play party games.
Because it can ONLY play party games.
Fable III is going to be a party game?
Because it can ONLY play party games.
That's not true at all. Watch the movie Gamer. That movie is a perfect example of how an FPS can work with Kinect. And yes I'm 100% serious. In that movie they used motion tracking and the kid didn't have to move anywhere. Just stand there and hold his hands out a certain way. I'm guessing one hand determined if he walked and the other determined if he fired and where to. Crouching is obvious, crouch. Jumping is also obvious. Thinking outside the box is what Kinect is all about. Let go of the controller.

Also sure it's the same principle as in Gamer, but that's like comparing a paper airplane and an F-22 jet. Also are you paid by MS or something? Because that post and especially the last sentence sounded a lot like an ad.
oh, and nice marketing sting at the end there. "let go of the controller". yeah, how about i don't and continue having fun, k?
Why not just post the original video.....
because i can't be arsed to look for it and my point is proven regardless the kinect is a huge pile of shit.

And when the PS3 came out I was skeptical. The PS3 was €800 when it was first released and had almost no games. I'm not the kind of person to spend vast amounts of money on something I don't know I'll use. The Kinect is almost €200, that's more expensive than a Wii, for a peripheral. When I'm not. I've looked into Kinect greatly because It's something I may buy in the future, my sister wants me to get it and it costs 200 freaking euro. That's not exactly the kind of money I want to waste. Money that could be going toward food or bills.
I have mine It's awesome. anyone who says it's a eyetoy clone clearly hasn't used it :buddy: Though i have to agree the Launch lineup is pretty bad (there's one amazing game, a few good games but arn't worth buying unless your interested, a few shit ones, and then sonic free riders :ohdear:), Wait a few months for the Game list to build up then get it IMO
