• Xbox Kinect - Who's getting one and what games look best to you?

Saw kinect in action today. They only showed shitty dancing games. My interest went even lower than it was.
I think it's a cool idea, and some of the games look interesting. But, there isn't anything I'd play for more than a few days at most.
I might get Playstation move instead, I've heard it's smoother, and I'm willing to bet it works better, since the camera actually has something that registers as a controller, whereas kinect has to find your hands and make them the controllers and all that. Move might not be as physical and energetic as kinect, but I don't wanna play games like this all the time, plus kinect is fucking expensive. Imma get PS Move just for shits & giggles. Although.... Kinect does seem like more of a big thing, like more games will be made for it and shit, PS Move just looks like Eyetoy 2.0. I dunno. Maybe I'll get neither.
If that's all your basing it off of you are a fool. Every system has party games. The PS Move is such a BLATANT ripoff of the Wii it's ridiculous. Kinect is innovative, and while flawed, will pave the way for future technologies.
Kinect is not innovative. This came out somewhere around 2008-2009. There's more headtracking software: [editline]5th November 2010[/editline]
I might buy it
Get Move instead
I might buy it when some good games come out for it.
Guitar Hero on Kinect sounds like fun to try out
Sooner or later games will be controller-less....... Now controllers are dying off. There really isn't anything else, except your body. That and your mind I suppose.
They better fucking not! :argh:
I cannot believe that I forgot the TrackIR. Available since 2001. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TrackIR
I cannot believe that I forgot the TrackIR. Available since 2001. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TrackIR
Wait..is that the Kinect prototype? They were working on it back in 2001?
Wait..is that the Kinect prototype? They were working on it back in 2001?
TrackIR has nothing to do with Kinect.
I'm sorry for the other people in this thread who blantly cannot read "Xbox Kinect - Who's getting one and what games look best to you? " But I am little interested into buying this anyone know if any good games are coming out for it?
Don't try to fix what isn't broken. AKA controllers.
This is the opposite of Microsoft's goal.
i want street fighter on kinect
i want street fighter on kinect
http://www.thehdroom.com/news/Ubisofts-Fighters-Uncaged-for-Kinect-Launch-Trailer/7762 Not exactly street fighter but same genre.

Head tracking software is NOTHING like Kinect.

I wanted to like it, I tried to embrace the possiblities of it, but the fact literally no games have been announced for it and it's 12 party games are shit, it can rot.

I was extremely pessimistic about Kinect, then I tried it in a futureshop yesterday and I was incredibly surprised. The characters do look a little silly, but I'm sure once more games start getting released it'll be a little better. I still haven't tried PS Move yet, though.

RIDER MEET HORSE HORSE MEET RIDER Seriously though, so far everything is shit, and I am still not convinced that this is not eyetoy v2. And watching Giant Bombs stream of all of the launch titles, it was bad. Kiectimals nad Dance central were the only games that actually worked 100%
That last game there sucks unless you can run up to the fitness lady and punch her in the face.
Why can't companies just realize that all this motion sensor bullshit is just a complete and utter failure? Why can't we just stick to the old way of playing games? Moving a stick and pressing a button? I was totally set then. I don't get why they need to milk things. The Wii, at the time, was an okay idea but it never really used all the functions of it's motion shit unless you played Wii Sports and Wii Sports resort. Hell, I could sit down and play Twilight Princess, flick my wrist a few times and wow, suddenly enemies are dead on my screen. As for Metroid Prime, I could just aim it and shoot like I was playing House of the Dead at an arcade. Then they released Wii Fit; for WHAT? What purpose did it serve? If you wanna get fit, go outside and hit the gym. This motion sensor bullshit is annoying. The Kinect is not going to be good. If it does sell, not everyone is going to buy it. Maybe those very few families who own a 360 and play together.
Your posts are disgustingly similar sounding to stealth marketing. I honestly cannot read them. It's like a PR person at Microsoft cramming bullshit down my throat in vBulletin form.
I agree with this 100% [editline]6th November 2010[/editline]
Why can't companies just realize that all this motion sensor bullshit is just a complete and utter failure? Also where did you get the idea that Move is not as physical and energetic as Kinect? Some of the games will give you a good workout if playing against a mate, especially the gladiator game.
Sixense is where it's at. Like the PS Move but for the PC.
I might buy it when some good games come out for it.
This, there is nothing id want to play now. Star Wars looks kinda cool but execution could be bad
