Interplay should have never sold to bethesda. By now we'd have a kickass mmorpg instead of fallout 3 Which I would be much happier with.
No GOD no. Fallout is meant for single player.
Bethesda didn't do anything wrong. Interplay is in the wrong for willfully disagreeing with the specified contract they had with Bethesda. They were supposed to begin production by April 2009. They didn't. So now Bethesda is taking what's owed to them.
THIS is going to "canibalize" their sells, next games they make aren't getting my support unlike Fallout 3, being arse heads. They will also lose a lot of fallout1/2/interplay fans legite buying. Yay for being a bitch in the legal system.(Also, boxes)
No GOD no. Fallout is meant for single player.
I think a Fallout MMO could work great, if done EXACTLY right. Now, that is undeniably a very difficult task. As for this lawsuit... I'm kind of glad that it's come to this. Bethesda made a great game - even if it is quite different from the originals, you have to admit it's a solid title in its own right. Fallout 3 actually introduced me to the Fallout franchise (I played 3, then 1, and I'm working my way through 2 now). It's different, yeah, but I think Bethesda did a nice job of taking the Fallout world and bringing it in to first person. By any means, that is a difficult undertaking, and they did good with it, and I believe they could make an even better game now that they've gotten their hands dirty with the lore and back story of the Fallout games. Now the point to all that is, as others have said, Interplay as it is now is a shell of what it used to be. The original developers of Fallout are gone. I believe Bethesda has a better chance of taking this franchise places than Interplay, especially if Interplay have been sitting there doing nothing with the MMO project for years now.
FOnline is going well so far, I think an official Fallout MMO could work if done right.
The Fallout games were never good. At least for me
Good boy, adding that last bit there. [editline]11:07PM[/editline]
No GOD no. Fallout is meant for single player.
I do have to agree here. However, it might buck the trend of MMOs and be good.
Just when I thought beth couldn't go any lower. assfucks.
...so what does interplay actually do? what, do you show up at work take a shit on someone's desk and roll in it for seven hours?
*facepalm*
It's an MMO, just what the Fallout series needs, why are Bethesda sueing them? it'll just heighten the franchise won't it?
Uh, they wouldn't get any money from the deal. That is all that most developers care about, or at least it's a major part. [editline]07:51PM[/editline]
Interplay should have never sold to bethesda. By now we'd have a kickass mmorpg instead of fallout 3 Which I would be much happier with.
No we wouldn't. They didn't even start working on it until after April apparently. What makes you think it would be out by now and be a quality game?
Interplay should have never sold to bethesda. By now we'd have a kickass mmorpg instead of fallout 3 Which I would be much happier with.
Ewwwww. Perhaps a Fallout 3 in Fallout 1 and 2's style would have been great, but I'm really not looking forward to the Fallout MMO.
OR maybe a f3 that was good. I mean with out mods good. fucking beth and their lazy ass devs.
Ugh. Why does bethsda think that they lost "unspecified monetary damages". What did they lose? Do they actually think that Interplay is making millions by doing....nothing?
Interplay had a deal with them and they knew they would lose most rights to their franchise. Interplay broke a contract and deserve some sort of reprimand. I live Interplay but they are not above the law and a fair contract.
I never understood why people loved Fallout so much anyway
Bethesda should start working on their own games, let Interplay handle Fallout.
i never understood why people loved fallout so much anyway
blasphmy! The power of christ compells you, dirty fiend!
Wait, the "fallout trilogy" wasn't sold by Bethesda but was 100% interplay? Wtf? I could have sworn those boxes I saw in target were published by bethesda softworks.
There's a difference in being a nostalgic isometric lover and being a fallout 1 and 2 lover.
<3 Diablo 2 I've never played any Fallout games.
Wait, the "fallout trilogy" wasn't sold by Bethesda but was 100% interplay? Wtf? I could have sworn those boxes I saw in target were published by bethesda softworks.
interplay released them because they obviously needed extra money for developing the fallout online thing. because bethesda is a bunch of cheap hicks.
you know who bethedsa reminds me of? kanye west
OR maybe a f3 that was good. I mean with out mods good. fucking beth and their lazy ass devs.
Fucking lazy bethesda how dare they make a good game that I personally don't like. Unlike interplay who didn't start making the game they were contracted to make.
I never understood why people loved Fallout so much anyway
Uhh because it was really fun.
...so what does interplay actually do? what, do you show up at work take a shit on someone's desk and roll in it for seven hours?
the are currently working on a DS game called T-Rex Rumble, but that might go down the drain.
interplay released them because they obviously needed extra money for developing the fallout online thing. because bethesda is a bunch of cheap hicks.
We get that you didn't like Fallout 3, Jesus Christ
Did anyone actually read the fucking article instead of just going "FUCK BETHESDA CUNTS"? Or no? Cause it doesn't look like a lot of people did. Also, even if Fallout 3 isn't in the same vein as Fallout 1 and 2, it's a solid fucking game.
this just in, buggy unstable games are solid.
This just in, I played Fallout 3 for some 50 hours, and never encountered bugs. Oh shit, that's fucking buggy.
I played about 40-60 hours and it crashes every time.
Then obviously, worst game ever. Fix the fucking bugs, it's not that hard. Hell, I even installed mods, and had to trouble shoot the shit out of it to get all of them to work, obviously game is buggy as shit and thus a terrible game...
I played about 40-60 hours and it crashes every time.
every time what
