Well so far, I love the new update, and I'm glad they took away the cd-check. Widescreen mode is fantastic, and I managed to play for about half an hour without getting booted by PB. I actually got to quit on my own accord, instead of being booted.
Now, I'm not sure if I was just lucky or the patch fixed the PB issues, but we will see in the future.
Looks like I'm gonna have to install BF2 again.:wink:

Should I buy this game today? Its only ten dollars through direct download and it looks pretty cool.

alt tab out then back in to fix the problem

EA can make good games, no doubt about it, but they always use the shittest Anti-Cheater Programs for their games.
Punkbuster is by far the most unstable and nearlly useless Anti-Cheat Program I have ever seen..
I just played the patch. God that is nice compared to what it was. I can snipe properly and score headshots thanks to the hitbox fix. And the widescreen support is not too bad looking. I think I might be playing this a lot more in the future.

If Alt-Tabbing doesn't work, pause the game, go to Settings, Controls, and Reset to Default Settings.

Also is that weird tank with what looks like a radar on it something from the expansion packs? I've never seen it before, and fucking molested me on single player multiple times. It's like it has damn cannons for MGs.

You can get it that way using your CD key, but you need to get a mini ISO in order to play. I found one on gameburnworld and it works lovely with my copy of BF2 Deluxe Edition, I don't ever need to put the CD in the drive.

Yeah the Tunguska or Type 95.
(MEC-AA)Tunguska's are easier to avoid cause they have a dome that obtructs their view with low targets.
My personal favourite is the M6 Linebacker.
Driver goes support class and the guy in hatch goes engineer, you can rack up quite large killing sprees this way.

The reasons you should get this game are to play Project Reality and Forgotten Hope 2. Vanilla BF2 is shit compared to these mods.
If only PoE 2 still had an active playerbase, goddamn that mod is fucking awesome.
