Might have to buy BF2
Sweet I have held off on this game because it always used to crash on me, I tired 1.5 though and it fixed all my problems, hopefully I can play now.
Wow, finally. I think just in time for the FH2 update release also.
And I just reinstalled BF2 like 3 days ago.
Fucking yes.
Awesome!

Would this still be worth buying? Does it still have a large community? I've played it for countless hours at my local internet cafe (I know the owner and get to play for free)

Sweet, i may pick up a copy next time i'm in town and have the cash
Also
- Players can now pass claymores by going prone
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES
Would this still be worth buying? Does it still have a large community? Don't get me wrong, this game is still played just as much if not more then it did just after release.
Players can prone under clays now, Ah reminds me of my old Delta Force days
Haha the two expansions I didn't buy, sweet.
I hope this one doesn't take longer to install than the actual game, like the last patch did. I mean, I remember installing the last patch it literally took about half an hour to install the damn thing.
It's going to take even longer. I guarantee it. It has two expansion packs crammed into the patch for Christ's sake.
Last patch was only half a gig and took me about 10 minutes to install.
1.41 was the last patch, right? Cause I remember that one taking really long to install.
I never patched my BF2, always crashed it. Is there already support for 1440 x 900?
I never patched my BF2, always crashed it. Is there already support for 1440 x 900?
You can get custom resolutions by adding +menu 1.15 +widescreen 1 +szx 1440 +szy 900 to the target line on the shortcut
You can get custom resolutions by adding +menu 1.15 +widescreen 1 +szx 1440 +szy 900 to the target line on the shortcut
But when this patch releases, we won't have to use those nasty methods anymore. Yay for DICE, now just remove Punkbuster fuckdammit :argh:
But when this patch releases, we won't have to use those nasty methods anymore. Yay for DICE, now just remove Punkbuster fuckdammit :argh:
Seriously? Awesome. Hopefully no more HUD stretching too! Reading some patch notes and some of the things I am liking are the following:
Added Widescreen support Added Euro Force and Armored Fury as free to play content for all Battlefield 2 players. Removed the requirement to have your BF2 DVD in the drive to start the game. Added Battlefield 2142 style prone deviation (going prone will now cause reduced accuracy for a brief period) Tweaked the hit detection, hits will be more accurate to the model.
I mean those are the things that particularly stand out for me, but there are other things I like too. Too bad I can't install it until Project Reality updates to be compatible with it..
I am glad BF2 is not forgotten but I would have rather heard news of BF3... Why is that bad? They've been working on BF3 and won't tell us anything about it, I kinda want to hear it.
I am glad BF2 is not forgotten but I would have rather heard news of BF3...
Why? [editline]11:13AM[/editline] I'd rather them update games that I already have rather than make me purchase a whole new game.
Because Skwee, BF2 came out in 2005, it's over 4 years old. Kinda time for a new game.
There are still people who play BF2? Anyways, these free expansions seem nice.
Because Skwee, BF2 came out in 2005, it's over 4 years old. Kinda time for a new game.
For what? What are they going to do? World War I? Would be kind of a lame game..
For what? What are they going to do? World War I? Would be kind of a lame game..
It's just a better modern game. Bigger servers, new maps, new weapons, better squad system, an engine that doesn't completely suck. They can't overhaul the game with patches. I am glad they patched it, BF2 is a classic game for me. I just want to hear about BF3.
Removed the requirement to have your BF2 DVD in the drive to start the game. Missed that, epic.

Ah well, BF:BC2 will tide me over til BF3 comes.
