New maps?
That Highway Tampa map was included, and we get the new (in my opinion shitty) map Operation Blue Pearl, along with both booster packs.
I just wanted to point at something that some people might not expect. This new patch will give a «You already have a newer version installed.» message if you try to install it right after installing the game, without installing any previous patches before 1.50. So in other words you need to install patch 1.41 before 1.50 for it to install properly. I learned it the hard way, 1.41 is another 500MB+ download by the way, it's annoying but apparently necessary.

Yes, unfortunately 1.5 is an incremental patch, and most of those have been broken in some way or another. It's not the file size that bugs me, it's the slowness of the installer.
I've got a kickass quad-core machine, you stupid patch, WHY DOES IT TAKE YOU MORE THAN HALF AN HOUR :argh:

Slow hard drive?
Awesome. Now if I only knew were my goddamn keycode went, fucking hell.
Slow hard drive?
No, all of the other patches are faster including this one, even though it's significantly larger. It's the installer software. Most everyone has trouble with it.
Does it include widescreen support?

I have a 6 year old rig with a 2 year old graphics card and it took me exactly 10 minutes to install the patch.
It's you.
edit: The previous 1.4 patch took me about 30 minutes to install.
Slow hard drive?
Yeah, mine installed in five minutes at the most. As a side note, I really hope the prone fix lessens the "Press Z to win!" nature of the game.
God damn you shitty laptop and your inability to play Battlefield 2! I already bought Special Forces and both boosters, but I forgot the account, so good for me :v:
oh my god and i have two bf2 copes :D
I keep wondering why BF2 still uses a crappy cone of fire system.
Does it include widescreen support?
Yes, Hor + this time.
Gahh, i need to get BF2
Oh God i have a problem when trying to patch the game.
When i click for example the 1.41 patch executable it like loads for a few minutes making my computer slow as shit then after a few minutes it asks me if i trust this file. I click allow and wait... But it never actually launches an executable
I've got a kickass quad-core machine, you stupid patch, WHY DOES IT TAKE YOU MORE THAN HALF AN HOUR :argh:
i have a single core and 1.41 took 4 minutes tops. 1.5 took about 7 minutes.
Goddamnit it costs 40$ here :sigh:
YES, finally got past the punkbuster problems and playing. I haven't played in a long time and forgot how much fun this game can actually be.
Mmm... I like the new map, and the kinda fixed hit detection, I actually managed to get a few kills for a change.
I still can't get past the black screen at the start, can anyone help?
what's the widescreen support like, any good? (screens?)

Silly me, I'm thinking of the wrong patch. :downs:
Shame really...I'm on Vista. And Punkbuster is hopeless on vista pc's
I am actually very happy with the hit box fix so far. I played some Operation Harvest last night and I could of sworn that every hit was instant and precise. The game feels much more fluid now instead of having to shoot over and over at something and waiting for the lag response of them to die.

Friends and me ordered some copies from amazon.co.uk and it cost everyone around 10€ (incl. shipping) :v:

Fixed
Fucking hell, I downloaded 1.41 and 1.5 overnight and have had 1.41 patching for 4 hours. It is at 16%.
Hey guys, fast link: http://www.ncndk.dk/download/bf2/BF2_patch_1_5_full.exe
Thank me later.
Located in my country as well, awesome :smug:
I'm going to thank you now instead of later.
Aww
my rank in assault is now #527
When I quit it was 300 and something.
My grenade launcher was also 400ish, its at 700.
Dammit.
what's the widescreen support like, any good? (screens?)
i don't have screens, but it works how widescreen is supposed to work, now, by expanding the horizontal field of view, while retaining the vertical field of view. rather than cropping it 4:3 to 16:9/16:10 as it was before.
