Chicago typewriter :pcgaming: [editline]30th March 2011[/editline] Red9 > any big gun ever [editline]30th March 2011[/editline] at least as far as re4 is concerned imo.
This game is being made by one of the teams that made SOCOM, what do people expect; an old-school Resident Evil? Judging by the character animations in the teaser, they even ditched the tank movement and separate aiming for standard aiming and shooting at the same time. Yet it's like a pseudo-remake / side-story to RE2, which will (possibly) explore alternative routes or unseen circumstances... Hard to make up my mind about this.
RE5 had a very very good PC port. It was 4 that was bad.
The gameplay felt slow to me as in, camera movement and such - felt very consolish.
Logical Side for int ammo and big guns= Replace all foes with Tyrants
The gameplay felt slow to me as in, camera movement and such - felt very consolish.
nah. try playing re4, that's slow. RE5 was very fast and responsive. [editline]31st March 2011[/editline] although RE4's pc port was fine as long a you updated it, and used a controller.
Wesker was also just a generic "traitor-villain who gets killed off by the real threat" in RE1, Pyramid Head was supposed to be confined to one game because of how Silent Hill works, and Jack Sparrow was originally meant to play second fiddle for Will Turner. If a smalltime character gets real popular in a series, it's not uncommon for said series to bend over backwards to make it seem like said character was supposed to be incredibly important all along.
Still a pretty stupid thing to do imo :/ Though I can kinda see why Wesker made it through RE1, his voice alone solidifies him as one of the greatest comic acts seen in a game
Wesker's voice was bad ass in RE5.
Wesker's voice was bad ass in RE5.
That's a huge understatement. Actually make that "Wesker is badass".
I actually thought Wesker was awesome in RE5, minus the "standard world-destroying villain" bit. He never ceased to surprise me until the very end. I'll never forget watching him pick up a motherfucking cruise missile and throw it at me. :byodood:
I hope Capcom find some feasable way to bring him back, he's too awesome to be gone.
That's a huge understatement. Actually make that "Wesker is badass".
I thought he was. But at times I thought he lost it. Like, that first boss fight with him. I had no idea how to do it, so he kept on saying "Ha! There you are." and it sounded dumb after a while, and he reminded me Neo.
I hope Capcom find some feasable way to bring him back, he's too awesome to be gone.
If they did, RE would be an par with Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. Did he not die inside of a pool of lava?
Like I said, my only beef with Wesker in 5 was how all his work and shady plans only amounted to a stupid "destroy the Earth" plot. That and the fact that Jill reveals a last second deus ex machina that takes Wesker down. I mean, I guess that was the way it had to be, but it just didn't feel right. Almost everything he said sounded awesome, and everything he did was amazing. And really, who does not like "COMPLETE GLOBAL SATURATION!". And while I didn't particularly care for the final boss fight in the volcano, we did get to see Chris punching a boulder, and really, who could ask for more?
Resident Evil 5 was a fun game, Specially on co-op.
"Complete global masturbation!"
If they did, RE would be an par with Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. Did he not die inside of a pool of lava?
He was waist deep in lava, which seemed to be just impeding his movement instead of the expected "immediate incineration" deal, and would probably get tossed about by those rockets if he could survive the initial blast due to neither scoring a direct hit. Not saying that they will bring him back, but they have room to work with if they wanted to. Hell, it's not like it'd even be the first time RE has flip-flopped on a promise...
Considering the track record of Capcom villains, I wouldn't be surprised if Wesker survived the end of Resident Evil 5. He essentially was a BOW with self-control, and what with Nemesis and Mr. X having the durability of a tank or more...
When Chris and Sheva fire the RPGs at Wesker, you can see that a few frames before they hit him he disappears (Uroboros remains there though). Not to mention the lava didn't seem to have much of an effect on him (and he had already been hit multiple times with an RPG on the boat, an RPG's detonation is way hotter than lava). Remember, Wesker can move very quickly, Uroboros can't, but Wesker isn't Uroboros, it's just an "extra" he controls in the final battle. I don't think they thought "Oh yeah let's have him survive", more like "Let's leave some doubts, so that if we want we can bring him back" (also if Wesker dodged and left Uroboros in the lava they have the perfect situation, because then Wesker won't have that stupid tentacle shit when he comes back). No, it wasn't a bug, in a extras video where they talked about the cutscenes they specifically said "The new tech we are using is great, we can go back to any cutscene and edit the single part we don't like without having to redo the entire thing", I heavily doubt they wouldn't fix Wesker "disappearing", considering it's probably the most important moment in RE5.
noooo! no damnit, fuckoff. that's the OPPOSITE of what i want. i want another survival horror RE game! not another huge guns blow everything away game. god fucking damnit [editline]31st March 2011[/editline] whoever is working on this game FUCK YOU. FUCK YOU.
Well having a survival horror thing like lack of ammo is good for tension and all but I can't imagine it being all that fun for people who wanted to kill some (slow) zombies. I mean I can't imagine it'd be that great for a player if he gets himself cornered by a fuckton of them with all his guns empty and his teammates are all "sorry lol, no ammo either V:v:V" That being said, has RE ever actually been survival horror since RE4?

Dead Space plays similarly (while it is more creepy than RE4/5 admittedly), but is considered survival horror.
Wesker's voice was bad ass in RE5.
he was pretty queer in re5 tbh
looks like it's got a good atmosphere and stuff. As long as it doesn't have the same gameplay as RE5 (I hated what they did with it; making switching weapons live, not being able to move while shooting, etc.) then I'll probably enjoy this.
dying sure is fun
It's many measures more enjoyable than being an invincible fucker who can just stomp through everything using minimal effort. There hasn't been a zombie game in... well ever where getting yourself cornered is something you should actively try to avoid, and getting cornered means you're probably going to die. In RE4/5, getting yourself in a corner is actually a valid tactic as it stops you from being set on from behind and you can pop everything that comes your way, in L4D getting into a corner is the most valid tactic against normal zombies, and so on and so on. Resource management is an excellent mechanic, even if the actual fighting is easy, you can force the player out of his comfort zone and make him do things he wouldn't necessarily do if he had an abundance of ammo.
he was pretty queer in re5 tbh
How dare you, Rusty.
Wesker's voice was bad ass in RE5.
"COMPLETE. GLOBAL. Saturation..." [editline]2nd April 2011[/editline]
dying sure is fun
The death scenes/game over scenes in RE2 and RE4 were "awesomely" frightening and gory.
Is Umbrella a "self-destructive no gameplan fuck your own members over" type of faction/company? If so then I want teamkilling as a mandatory feature. Even if it isn't I still want teamkilling. I would hate to put up with children, furries or weaboos.
wesker's still alive, hence why he's in mvc3 HUEHEUEUE p.s. he's op please nerf him capcom.

If teamkilling was implemented, i'd hope it's only if they're idiots fucking up the objectives or already attacking you. :v: I wonder if this game will hold any similarities with the Outbreak series besides multiplayer?
I wonder if it will add a deathmatch mode between survivors and the umbrella corporation.
