When Chris and Sheva fire the RPGs at Wesker, you can see that a few frames before they hit him he disappears (Uroboros remains there though). Not to mention the lava didn't seem to have much of an effect on him (and he had already been hit multiple times with an RPG on the boat, an RPG's detonation is way hotter than lava). Remember, Wesker can move very quickly, Uroboros can't, but Wesker isn't Uroboros, it's just an "extra" he controls in the final battle.
I don't think they thought "Oh yeah let's have him survive", more like "Let's leave some doubts, so that if we want we can bring him back" (also if Wesker dodged and left Uroboros in the lava they have the perfect situation, because then Wesker won't have that stupid tentacle shit when he comes back).
No, it wasn't a bug, in a extras video where they talked about the cutscenes they specifically said "The new tech we are using is great, we can go back to any cutscene and edit the single part we don't like without having to redo the entire thing", I heavily doubt they wouldn't fix Wesker "disappearing", considering it's probably the most important moment in RE5.
Capcom already said he's dead, if they brought him back that would piss off quite a few people.
[editline]4th May 2011[/editline]
I just watched the gameplay trailer, the animations look terrible.
Just played a demo at Comic Con on the PS3.
I can answer some questions aboout gameplay and characters.
Only had 10 minutes to play after a long line. So I don't know all the weapons or characters, but I saw that there about 8 characters. You can choose there special abillity and their weapon from an unlockable list of choices.
It is nothing like the last couple of Resident Evil.
It's a 4 player coop zombie shooter. Set in third person in the Resident Evil Universe.
I'm not sure if it just because it was a demo, but when you died, you could respawn in a couple seconds.
There were marines, but the zombies and marines focused on the players more.
Zombies were moslty like Dead Rising. A lot around the map with them spawning as you kill. They weren't bad but they could grab you and infect you. And they took a lot of damage before dying. I had a shotgun, and it takes 3 shots maybe from mediumish range.
Didn't have a chance to try the bloody a marine and attract zombies. But they did that to me enough.
Bleeding system was a bit weird. Get shot, screen goes red, you lose health slowly, Zombies rush you.
It stops after a bit of time, or if you heal.
The zombies weren't in great numbers like Dead Rising. But they pour out buildings and from under objects tto replace those you killled, until the area is cleared. Perhaps 10-15 zombies per player. I was playing the level where Leon and Claire jump from the car in RE 2's beginning. They are much more active than Dead Rising and they do go toward whatever is making most noise/movement near them.
No idea what difficult we were playing.
Also:
I got 3 pins from the booth.

And a sign above the booth.

They already released gameplay footage during E3, it looks really bad. It's no longer Resident Evil anymore, just a class based TPS.

Eh, it's definitely not RE's style... but it still looks like it can be some fun.
I won't buy it. But I will play it, not because it's Resident Evil, just because it's still interesting.
Also, I don't think this should be called squad based or a team game. The whole time I watched people play it, no one knew where anyone was, nor did they bother healing each other.
Too much shit occurring in the game which kills team work.

Just because you saw that happened doesn't mean it can't be or isn't intended to be a squad based shooter.
You can solo SWAT 4 without any dudes with you. SWAT 4 must not be a squad game.
I also played the game. There is nothing squad like in it other than being able to use a healing spray on each other.
It literally is just a 4 player coop shooter. It plays like Gears of War except there is a lot of zombies moving about and with the occasional marine.
In SWAT, it be stupid to solo it since team work would be very helpful. In this game its pointless and players respawn in less than than 10 seconds.
Don't make such stupid connections between a game that thrives off Teamwork and a game that doesn't get shit out of teamwork.
You make it seem like any multiplayer game could be classified as squad base game just because you can use a mic to talk to each other.
I knew it was going to be something similar to that but I still thought I'd enjoy it. That just looks bland, boring, and dull.
SWAT 4 is no fun alone.
Funny thing happened at the booth. The 4 players were in a parking garage fighting lickers. They defeated them and a garage door began to roll up and zombies were shuffling outside it. The players all toss all their nades at the zombies' feet. One guy tosses a flash and it blinds everyone long enough for the door to fully open.
Everyones' vision clears and all but one player run out of the garage. The last guy looks around and notices the door is closed fully. He attempts to open it by all sorts of means. Eventually another players runs back into the garage to get ammo. They ran through what appeared to the lone player, a solid door. The lone player tries to run throuh, hits the door.
The other player runs right back out. Apparently the other 3 players saw an open door and the lone player saw a closed door. The lone player's game then suddenly freezes after his 5 minute ordeal.
The booth managers get a tech who has no idea where the PS3 is and tries to open a prop ammo box supporting the TV for the lone player. Another tech guy walks up and tells him those are nothing but props and the the systems are below the platform everyone is on.
They attempt to reset the frozen PS3 and accidently pull the plug on another player's game and leave 2 players to battle the zombies.
Thas the booth at E3 not comic con. 5 tvs, 4 were set up on ammo boxes while the last was set up as a global view of everyone.
But that was the garage that the lone player was not allowed to leave.
NEW TRAILER!

Trailer is pretty good. While it's a bit sad that they're going for pure-out action, I can't deny that some of the scenes were pretty cool. The design of the Umbrella Operatives looks pretty cool, while I felt the forces of the R.P.D were comparatively lacking. Like I said before, I have an eye out for this game, since the premise of two groups fighting it out in Raccoon City is pretty cool, and adding in that they brought back zombies and classic biological weapons, this could be a surprise hit of 2012.
Game's supposed to be coming out in March.
Game's supposed to be coming out in March.
Much like everything else ever. I don't think this game's gonna get a lot of sales, but if they're lucky it might go the way that Dead Island's been going and turn into a bit of a cult hit.
Then again, from what I've read this sounds a bit too bland. Though there's apparently classic zombies in it, which I don't think there's enough of these days. That, and the fact that I apprently really like blander shooters means I'll probably pick this up.
Zombies aren't even an enemy anymore, They're just there as a meat shield.

I know, but I just like the way the game looks. And, as I say, I enjoy bland shooters more than I should.
Really hate the mentality that has been with this current console generation. Everything has to be handed to them and anything with some form of challenge is labeled as hardcore and shit.

Maybe because people starting realizing that more people would buy a game about fun than a game about challenge?

Also, could someone explain to me how the fuck they have a SCAR in 1998? And where the hell did Umbrella get the tech to make people invisible like that?
Also, could someone explain to me how the fuck they have a SCAR in 1998? And where the hell did Umbrella get the tech to make people invisible like that?
I was upset about the invisibility as well, until I remembered absurd Resident Evil. Still, considering that that sort of technology has never been seen in the series until this point, it does feel out of place, but I'm not going to let it bother me.
Also, could someone explain to me how the fuck they have a SCAR in 1998? And where the hell did Umbrella get the tech to make people invisible like that?
They made flamethrowers, particle rifles and plasma cannons in-series. While invisibility during RE2/3 is pushing it, Umbrella's already got super-advanced technology aside from the virus(es). The SCAR being there is probably just rule-of-cool rather than historical accuracy (and considering the story of the series in the first place, it's definitely not something one would really care to complain about anyway).
Chick flipping off walls with a knife and taking on a licker.
Yeeeeaaaaaaah no.
Capcom plz call me when you decide to go back to survival horror, if ever.

The same way they have zombies.

As ridiculous as that was, it was kinda cool to watch, and so insanely satisfying. Fuck wasting all my grenade launcher rounds on them. Fucks.

I'd agree with you but rating people takes me to FP...
I did find that pretty stupid aswell. I remember fighting the first licker on RE2 and pulling out the shotgun as soon as I could due to how fucking scared I was of that thing and what it would do to me, and even then it didn't die from 1 shot.
Still, I believe this might be a nice game.
