Half Life simply because you can download Sven Coop.
It says on the back of the box: "Half-Life 1: Source" "Experience this special edition of the original, critically-acclaimed single player adventure, recreated atop Source for enhanced play". I just said get original because of mods. And just after seeing a video I see it's the same game. So I have played it :D
Also, hl1 graphics = retro, hl1:source graphics = not cool, doesn't fit.
Has anyone notices the pile of boxes sitting in the corner of this thread waiting to be used?

I have both, and I prefer Source because there [i]are[/i] a few graphical improvements and it feels less buggy to me. If you don't have either, get the original for the mods. Plus HLDM:S is just dumb.

Garry's Mod isnt a mod anymore. its considered an indie game.
HL1. Definetly.
Source is just hl1 with moddeed physics.
HL1 have many awesome mods, such as Scientist Slaughterhouse.
