Assassin's Creed Brotherhood [sp]when Lucy gets stabbed by Desmond. I was like "FUCK YOU DESMOND" After he did that :<[/sp]
When I was about 6 or 7, I played Final Fantasy 7. Needless to say, Aeris' death was quite sad at the time. The entire game is actually quite sad, but I never really noticed any of it. I only really realised Aeris' death.
The part in Gears 2 where the Carmine guy gets killed was quite sad too. And, as someone said on the first page, paying off my debt in Animal Crossing felt really good.

Remember[sp]it wasn't his fault.[/sp]
In MW1 where [sp]Zakheav (spellinglol) is walking along the bridge, and shoots your team one by one.[/sp]
In MW2 where [sp]it's Captain Price in the gulag.[/sp]
And in HL2:Ep2 when [sp]Alyx gets injured by that hunter, and when you launch the rocket at the end.[/sp]
And in BC2 when [sp]the hippie guy in the helicopter dies.[/sp]
I can Agree with 1, 3 and 4 of the Lad above but to add a few of my own...
1) Jorge's Death in Halo:Reach. I really did like him...
2)When [sp]Kate dies in GTA IV[/sp]
3)When you actually take your time to study some of the scenes in Hl2(and episodes) and L4D 1/2, alot of them are quite strong... (remember the scene in EP2 where you go into a cabin of some sort with your vort buddy to find a rotten body sidding in a chair with a shotgun next to him, leaving it quite clear that he shot himself.)
4)Some of the Vistas visible in the later levels of Halo:Reach making you feel like all that effort was for nothing(Latter half of exodus onward)
Just listening to music like this;

Totally agree with this kinda stuff, I got copies of Mario Kart and Mario All Stars on the SNES for christmas last year (the very first games I ever played) which 6 year old me decided to get rid of because he's a fucking dick, hearing the menu themes and all the level themes after about 12 years made me just stop, stare at the tv screen and shed many tears. Wish I could get nostalgic about N64 and Pokemon games though.
2)When [sp]Kate dies in GTA IV[/sp]
I had [sp]Roman die[/sp].
Holy shit I never knew Kate could be such a god damn whore. She [sp]doesn't even seem to give a single fuck that your cousin just died from what I remember[/sp].
Alice Madness Returns Spoiler Alert- [sp] Not really a scene, more as you work out what Bumby did to Alice/Lizzie throughout the game and when she gets revenge at the end by ironicly pushing him into an oncoming train.[/sp]

Kate is the single most annoying person in the entire game. You crash into the pole once, and she calls you a maniac and threatens to leave. . I remember with Michelle I could crash into people, cars, and walls without her saying much. I hated kate, but I was sad [sp] when she did die.[/sp]
There are quite a few, but one of the more recent ones was retrieving a fallen ranger's corpse for his wife in Fallout: NV. It wasn't a big quest or anything, as a matter of fact it seemed to matter very little in the scheme of things, but it certainly felt good.
I've said this in the GTA IV: SA thread;
when Big Smoke [sp]betrays[/sp] you, I cried for days... all of that time spent together... all I had to do was follow the damn train :saddowns:

and the end of Oblivion, where Martin [sp]sacrifices himself for the good of Tamriel[/sp] <- major main story spoiler
Yes.
The sequel was so utterly underwhelming in comparison.
Another one that had an effect on me, Metro 2033's "enlightened" ending. The view of destroyed Moscow, the combination of sadness and hope for a better future, and the beautiful theme... it gave me shivers.
How about the fact in the second one[sp]that you and Joe are the hitmen from the ending[/sp]
I thought mafia II's ending was a bit emotional though.
End of Penumbra Overture Episode 1, 'nuff said.
Bumping for the sake of this great thread.
Killzone 3's ending where [sp]you look down at the planet, now covered in radiation, with no life on the planet.[/sp]
Dogmeat dying in my FO3 playthrough. :c
Bastion. The entire game.
Ending of Bioshock 1 and 2, i have never been more effected by an ending of a game then that. Oh yeah, when i played through bioshock 2 to the end on hard, and it refused to boot the game because of stupid fucking GFWL.

Most of Fallout 3, bits of fallout:NV.

Oh yes, STALKER COP, just that feeling you get inside you when you've fucked up and now your trying to cross the zone in the dark, a few bullets left in your clip, trying to get to the tanker. Oh walking into a cave and having a fucking controller jump out at you. I remember sprinting all the way back to the ship.
Andrew Ryan confrontation in Bioshock 1 and Minervas Den outro was pretty emotional. Fuck all of the bioshock series is emotional due to the fact its so fucking tragic how an entire civilisation is so bady wrecked and you have to walk through all of it being the only normal person.
in gears of war 3 where [sp]dom died[/sp]. major :( The music didnt help either...
The fact that in mafia II, you killed the protagonist from Mafia I.

Mafia I has such great music, really sets the mood.
Getting a good ending in Fallout:New Vegas. I felt like "yeah, I think it'll all be alright." Just the whole bittersweet thing when you realize that humanity is an almost indestructible thing, for better or worse.
Also, the end of Episode Two.
I need to play more games that give you those pangs of emotion.
Try playing the Gears of war series
Deus Ex HR if you let [sp]Malik die[/sp].
Well, I'm probably late, but when Eli got murdered in Ep2.
Whole HL2.
Final Fantasy IX made me all sad, it's got such an awesome story
Gears of War 2 where [sp]carmine dies. it was much more dramatic than Anthony's death though, and the fact that he wanted to tell his brothers/mother he loved them made it worse, he was struggling just to say those last few words :([/sp]
Metro 2033 had a lot of moments for me: Walking with Alex and the beginning of the game and hearing the people trying to get into the hospital to see their injured loved ones. Traveling with Khan and learning about the ghosts. [sp]Finding out the Dark Ones were just trying to communicate with humanity and you either wipe them out or save them.[/sp]
Deus Ex HR if you let [sp]Malik die[/sp].
I went into a mad rage that I let that happen, and killed everyone I meet afterwards.
