I'm gonna catch a lot of flack for this, but when Sgt.Johnson dies in Halo 3. Honestly, the fact that he was with you through all of the previous games, helping you fuck shit up and narrowly evading death countless times makes his death have a big impact. Johnson was a badass, and to see him die really made me sad. Also the microwave tunnel from MGS4. That part was painful to watch.
The end of Episode 2 :smithicide: Fallout 3 original ending....I felt really good Mass Effect 2's epic ending. The funniest ending had to be F.E.A.R. 2's...FUCK EVERYTHING AND RUN. World in Conflict was just a sobering and uplifting tale throughout the entire game. Killzone 2 made me feel ecstatic because I actually thought the Helghast were gonna win.
Mass Effect 2's epic ending.
The worst ending too, holy shit they make you feel bad for that. Joker almost looks resigned to the fact that [sp]without Shepard[/sp] the universe is doomed to the reapers. And he has [sp]lost near enough everyone close to him as well.[/sp]Except EDI. That hits just as hard as the epic ending but in the exact opposite way.
Cairne Bloodhoof's death in Cataclysm made me shed a manly tear of manly men.
The secret final boss in Croc for the PS1. I have no idea why, but I cried during that fight.
Forgot what game it was, but I remember playing it around 2002 IIRC. I am going to say this part as best as I can remember, but my memory of this game has faded and I am trying my hardest to remember "From Bad to Worse" 2200 hours Arctic Ocean -25 degrees Celsius 15 meters below sea level (Forgot ship name) *Screen fades in from black as the sound of a torpedo hitting plays* *View begins to unblur and bubbles are seen rising as several floating corpses come into view* *Blood starts to cough out from where the player's vision is* *Player begins to see corpse of key characters as he swims to find a air hole in the sinking ship* I remember at that point swimming up to a catwalk just above the water with the character starting to cough/puke blood all over the floor below him and falling out of consciousness, only to be rescued by some generic soldier wearing a balaclava. Someone mentions that the character is beyond saving at that "They should just leave him behind" who is interrupted by the person wearing the balaclava claiming he can save him and the character falling out of consciousness again. I barely remember this game, all I remember was emotional music and a few scenes, if anyone can figure it out please tell me. Also, probably came out in 1999 or 2001, but I don't remember. If you know, please tell me. The impact IMO was seeing almost all the key characters dead that had brought flavor to the story I barely even remember, and most of them being wiped out made the story pretty bleak from there on in IIRC
Ending to the new Medal of Honor, and MGS4. The music in Medal of Honor!
I for one think a great emotional part was when [sp]Strickland died[/sp] in Crysis
It Ocarina of Time where you [sp]do the quest for the Big Goron's Sword and you come across the depressed guy in the Lost Woods, he tells you to take a mushroom to Kakariko Village. When you come back he's gone, but that blonde Kokiri is there. She tells you he probably turned into a Stalfos, then laughs. I really felt sorry for the depressed guy and also a little uncomfortable knowing that the people Link grew up with were such psychopaths, and the only reason they didn't kill him or at least take him to the Lost Woods to turn him into a Stalfos is that they thought Link was a Kokiri too. It was very disturbing and still is. Also, when I fought the Stalfos in the Forest Temple I felt bad because I thought one of them might have been the depressed guy.[/sp]
Vault 11 and the story behind it in Fallout: New Vegas was pretty sad and interesting.

I felt really bad in Ocarina of Time when you go back to the Lon Lon Ranch an you find Maron's ghost and tombstone. :smith: [editline]18th February 2011[/editline] After pulling the Master Sword.
I know most people look down on Modern Warfare 2's story mode, but... Roaaaach!
I know most people look down on Modern Warfare 2's story mode, but... Roaaaach!
never cared for any of the characters, except Foaly because he's silly
Metro 2033 endings and Dead space 2, when Isac left Ellie in the spaceship :C
When I was like 10 and my sim died in The Sims 2. I was stressed out for the rest of the day.
The scene in the Orphanage in Bioshock 2. There is nothing in there [sp]until you take Eleanor's gift, but that's another thing[/sp] but a row of beds where the Little Sisters slept. Each of them are filled with various makeshift childhood memorabilia, and some depressing, soft viola music starts quietly playing as you approach the final bed: [sp]Eleanor's[/sp], who has a special audio recording basically saying that Mr. Diary (her audio recorder device) is the only thing she has left, and that she is being sent away to become a Little Sister. Kinda effective, but otherwise meh.
Mass effect 2 ending, [sp]when legion dies[/sp] Manly tears.
playing the first silent hill back in the 90s as a kid gave me some real fucking nightmares
Probably said before, but when John Marston dies at the end in Red Dead Redemption. Though the ending of Undead Nightmare lightened it up a bit.
Marvel vs Capcom 3 [sp]Wolverine takes Moriggan out behind a bar and fucks her after getting wasted[/sp] [sp]I'm not kidding[/sp]
The bad ending for Mass Effect 2. I didn't get it myself, but I watched a video of it. :frown:
it might have been said before, but half life 2 when you're riding up the elevator in the citadel and you can get a good look at the city and the surrounding area. "everything that just happened, happened out there" - it was a strong feeling, especially for a video game. i dont know, im weird like that. Mass Effect 1 [sp]When I talked to the salarian commander on Virmire about starting the mission, and realised I'd pretty much have to send either Ashley or Kaidan to death. I sent Kaidan with the salarians and then went pretty much into full roleplaying mode. Even though I had a strong feeling that no matter what I do, he'd die at the end, I still tried to do everything I could to help the salarians out. I was pretty much on my toes for the whole mission, trying to be as quick and efficient as possible and clearing all the defenses. That, meeting Sovereign and confronting Saren is what made Virmire absolutely the best part of ME for me.[/sp]
It was a moment on Red Dead Redemption. Just got into the forest area, guy comes up out of nowhere asking for my help to rescue his wife, I follow, we stumble into a small opening. She's being hung from a tree but is still alive kicking and swaying, me and the dude try frantically to kill all the lynchers around. I blast the last one and she stops moving, I then shoot the rope holding her and she falls down dead and the guy I was with just falls to his knee's next to her. I promptly leave the scene feeling rather ill inside even though it's just a game.
Almost all of Heavy Rain.
In Fallout 3,[sp]just before activating Project purity, I talked to Dogmeat to send him back to Vault 101, because I didn't want to take him into the chamber. But instead, the Lone Wanderer said: "I think it's time for us to say goodbye, old buddy. Take care of yourself, okay?", and Dogmeat whined.[/sp] I thought that was pretty touching.
Just a little sidenote: All of your party members get extra dialogue if you talk to them in the final scene, although Dogmeat is the only one where you can say 'goodbye' I think. The others are either serious (Fawkes, Charon, RL-3, Cross) or funny (Jericho, Butch).
Almost all of Heavy Rain.
Brushing your teeth was such a heart breaking moment in the game
Not so much emotional like weepy as it was emotional scary: When I first played the original Half-Life when I was 10 or 11. I thought it was pretty cool, walking around a giant lab with scientist guys walking around; the resonance cascade was pretty cool looking. So I'm walking out of the lab and the first thing I see after getting the crowbar are these headcrab zombies, and it scared the shit out of me then.
I was sad when [sp]Carlos[/sp] died in Saints Row 2, Raged at a friend over steam.... Yet I feel no remorse for Bill?
