hey guess what i have a dual core 2.4 ghz 4 gb ram and a 4870 and brace yourself AO lags
Ambient Occlusion works better on nVidia cards. Not fanboyism, their drivers have supported it since 186.2, on tons of games.
Oh wow, I took a combat walker and stomped some buildings for half an hour. Awesome. And I unlocked the jetpack too. :ghost:
Matchmaking sucks, if the right amount of players don't join soon enought the party disbands.
Shit crashes for me every 5 minutes. :(
So with this rig, should I be able to run the game better than what I'm running it at now (medium)? 4870 512MB Core 2 Duo E8500 (3.16 stock, OC'ed to 3.6) 4GB DDR2 RAM [editline]04:41PM[/editline] It lags whenever I start destroying buildings.
Doesn't lag much or crash for me at all :smug: I don't even have that amazing of a computer.
Doesn't lag much or crash for me at all :smug: I don't even have that amazing of a computer.
Settings and specs please?

Oh, and is anyone else crashing when they hit enter on someone's name in the score menu? I keep accidentally doing it.
I'd say you need to upgrade your CPU the most, but ideally everything.
:saddowns: where can i get computer for great price
Buy the parts and build it.
That CPU looks like an E8400. No need to upgrade that if it is. get a new GPU, HD3600 isn't so good for gaming. Also, I just recorded a video of dumb AI. It's a bit far into the game as far as I know, but it shouldn't spoil anything. I'll have it on YouTube within an hour.
in short, what can i get if i invest around 1k-1.5k$ for a new computer.

Do buildings respawn?
Do buildings respawn?
Nope. Hopefully someone will make a sandbox map with respawning buildings.
Missed that. :rolleye: Anyway, video's almost finished encoding.
Well, it seems that my lag problems were fixed by running the game in compatibility mode for XP SP2. I doubt it was solely an OS error, though, unless you guys are all running XP or Windows 7.
E8400 = Dual core. His CPU = single core with HT.
i knew it! i knew my processor was single core god fucking dammit
How to text chat in multiplayer games?
Nope. Hopefully someone will make a sandbox map with respawning buildings.
They should have made it so that EDF buildings in EDF territory respawn. And that Guerrilla buildings in Guerrilla territory respawns. But EDF buildings in Guerrilla territory and vise versa, do not respawn.
in short, what can i get if i invest around 1k-1.5k$ for a new computer.
A very nice computer.
any mods for pc version yet?
any mods for pc version yet?
A bit early, don't you think?
How to text chat in multiplayer games?
I'd also like to know. I checked the controls and couldn't find the key anywhere.
Ambient Occlusion works better on nVidia cards. Not fanboyism, their drivers have supported it since 186.2, on tons of games.
They did a good job with the AO on this game. It brings my framerate down maybe 2-4 frames, no real difference and it looks better. I'm running with a GTX 280. When I turned AO on in Burnout Paradise, my framerate was cut from 60 (I had Vsync on) to 30. I'm not trying to brag, this is so people without the game can see how well it's been optimized.
in short, what can i get if i invest around 1k-1.5k$ for a new computer.
This is what I would get.
Runs smooth maxed out @ 1280x1024 4xaa with these specs OS: Windows 7 [64-bit] CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3800+ Ram: 2GB DDR2 600MHZ GPU: ASUS 8800GT 512MB Only problem I've had is that it takes forever to load, hopefully a defrag will fix that. In other news I want to dig holes :C
