Red Faction: Guerilla v2 - Games

In the last day I've finally got hyped for this, and now I remember the joyous joys of joy when a new major game is released on steam and people all over the world try to download the same thing all at the same time.

I'm getting a bit of lag on the menu screen. I also keep crashing on the windows live screen. Besides my obvious incompetence, what could be wrong? [editline]01:51PM[/editline] Alright I got passed the Windows Live thing. I but I crash whenever I sign in.

So you need GFWL to play multiplayer?

Disabled Shadows, runs a lot smoother now. But this convinced my to invest in some upgrades.

I have a quad core AMD Phenom 9500+ 2.21 ghz and it still is a bit laggy when I destroy stuff on low.

I just got my first crash as soon as that Eos Sniper mission finished...

I but I crash whenever I sign in.[/QUOTE] The Bik Files are a bit buggy, get plugins or go to the game's install and remove/rename them all. I only lag at the map screen (which I almost never use). My only complaint of this game, the loading time for me is about 7 mins. But, the game never loads an area (Think GTA3 where crossing the portland bridge made the new town load) it's all seamless. I guess it's an okay trade off

What the christ, I'm playing through RF1 and 2 before tomorrow and RF2 on Steam is asking for a CD.

Anyone know how to set a custom resolution? Also, somehow, maximum settings don't affect my framerate at all. It's the same as minimum settings.

Anyone having problems with 6 second jumps or stuff when switching weapons in combat or people talking or the handbook or LIVE MP, try ALT-ENTER windowed mode made all my problems go away, ALL of them. This game is fuckin amazing, just waiting for the patch that allows me to play fullscreen, but the only difference is the bar on top so it isn't even a big deal.
