Is it me, or is this game's PS3 online community dead? I try to get in a game, and it finds 3 games running. WTF?
Seems as if everyone on this page is dumb.

But then they would all focus their fire on you!
I've never played red faction before, if i play this would i understand it?
Yes, you'll understand it. Aside from a few parts that aren't important to the story.
It's nothing like Metal Gear.

Hey! Metal Gear's easy if you have an IQ over 100. And I happen to have one of 123. =|
How do I know if I'm running in DX9 or DX10? I tried adding the -nod3d10 parameter and ran in both windowed and fullscreen mode, and I'm still getting horrible amounts of lag. The game literally stops for minutes at a time, with only seconds of normal speed in-between the lag. The lag happens completely at random.
Look in the advanced display options and see if you can turn on sun shafts.
Yes -> DX10
no -> DX 9
I'm getting wierd graphical errors with shadows and ambient occlusion, it sort of looks like all of the shadows and ambient occlusion shadows on the player have been shifted 1ft to the left.
When I started the game, it would freeze up half the time on the startup videos. The few times I got into the main menu, it kept constantly freezing and I could barely click shit. So, being the genius I am, i took someones advice and removed all the .bik files, which solved both problems, and shouldn't have caused any more. So now, the campaign got halfway loaded and then crashed rfg, half the time wrecking crew loaded and I managed to play a couple rounds (at 60 fps, mind you), and I'm starting to get irritated at the fact I can't play the game that I payed for. And yes, the game runs very well despite my relatively old rig.
2gb DDR2 RAM
nvidia 8800 GT 512 mb vram
300 GB hdd
3300+ AMD Sempron processor (2.0 ghz single core)
although the problem might be associated with my processor, i've never EVER had a problem like this with any other game. not with crysis, not with call of duty 4 or 5, not with bioshock, not with any of the red alerts, so i honestly don't see why this would be happening.

You too huh?
I have to run it in Windows 7 and when I try to load a save game it crashes, and I have to retry loading the save game 3 times to get it to work.
I have:
3gb ram
Nvidia 9600GT
AMD Athlon 64 3800+
But that's the thing, I can't even start the campaign. It crashes with an error halfway through and quits, and I can't find anything on the intranet that could tell me why it's happening. It happened before and after I deleted the .bik files, I'm considering reinstalling the game.
Reinstall it for the love of god if you haven't already.
Hey guys when I'm driving around in Parker the game starts randomly popping up these huge brown boxes. I think it's a fog texture glitch. Any fixes?
reinstall the game? Backup your saves.
reinstall the game? Backup your saves.
Is that known to fix it? I'll give it a shot. I just didn't want to do that if it wasn't the problem.
It's known to fix corrupt files.
Bump. Does this actually have more to show than destruction? Is it worth the buy at 26 pounds?

The destruction alone is worth the 26 pounds. The graphics are decent, the multiplayer is cool, but the story doesn't administer much immersion.

Alright. I guess I'll buy it then. :3:
How do I fix the main menu, is lags worse than any game I own.
I've reinstalled the game twice now, still hasn't fixed shit.
How do I fix the menu lag?
[editline]10:46PM[/editline]
I'd like to try out me new card on the game, if only I could get past that damned menu.
Anyone?
Whoa, I'd forgotten about this thread. And I just got the Broken Supply Line achievement today.
Aside from the Screen Resolution issues, I love this game, and I'm playing on Insane difficulty.
I wish the EDF would attack safehouses more. It's epic to see your base falling apart and up in flames after barely surviving an EDF onslaught.

Safehouses should have been in caves or abandon mineshafts imo. I mean, what are the odds that those flyers never go over your base?
At least give the rebels one of those rock cloaker things to so you have a reason for why the flyers can't find you.
I forgot I never finished this game.

I saw one of the flyers just above me in one of the safehouses, and I led a red alert military strike squad in there but as soon as I entered they just went "Oh well" and wandered off.
Could anybody help me with my problem?
What platform should you buy this for? PS3 or PC?
