I have had the speedball 2 key on my account for 6-12 months now from the last thread. And my account is from '04.
Does anyone mind PMing me a Sins of a Solar Empires key? I've tried on two different accounts with two different e-mails and haven't recieved anything except the verification email and I've tried a few different games too. Thanks.
FYI if you got nowhere to enter a key, like no download clients, then you must download the game itself. Technically not warez since you own a key and that key is license to use the software.
Still warez. Borrow the disc off a friend or something.
Not warez, Normally, you buy a game just for the key.
Still warez. Borrow the disc off a friend or something.
Game itself normally isn't playable without a key. SP requires a cd most of the time, mp a key. Or both need a key. So if you don't crack it, but use your key, nothing bad is happening.
It's still warez. There is no question about it.
It's still warez. There is no question about it.
The key is what makes the product unique, without the key it's just an unusable product (in theory), so with your fancy key however it becomes an unlocked product. It's not illegal to download a game you already legally own the key for.
It is illegal according to greedy companies that want you to buy the game once more if you lost it, for example.
my champions online key wont work
Argh, i bought SoaSE when it was released :( Now i feel ripped off.
No, it's illegal according to the law. If you torrent it, not only was it uploaded to everyone you're downloading from illegally, you're also uploading some back, which is... illegal. If you're downloading it directly(Rapidshare or whatever), it's still illegal, as it was uploaded illegally.
Someone pm me a soase cd key please, i dont like polish.
It's still warez. There is no question about it.
Then I guess buying games on steam is warez, since you don't even get a key most of the times and when you do (for most non-Valve games, all you're really buying is the key), you're just downloading the game, so it must be warez, lololol. :downs: And by the way, it is illegal to upload any copyrighted software, in most countries however, you only get arrested for selling it, if you distribute it silently through the internet without selling pirated copies or directly giving out a crack & keygen nobody is gonna give a shit about you. It is no different whatsoever from borrowing a CD/DVD from a friend.

Holy Shit. Sins of solar empire Works! Thanks!
Holy shit, SOAS!
I can confirm SOAS Works. Download impulse from http://www.impulsedriven.com Then make account etc. Click the electric bolt at the top left of program. It will say, this is your first time, do you want to register a product, say yes and enter your key, select games and Sins should be selected automatically. Press OK. And WALLAH You now own SOAS.
So if I get the gist of this thread right, the situation is as follows:

Speedball 2 keys work with Steam (As they did the last time around)
Sins of a Solar Empire keys work with Impulse
Champions Online keys are just old beta keys so don't work
Other keys like Ground Control 2 keys and Empire Earth keys (probably) only work on retail (as in borrow your friends CD/DVD and enter your own key when installing/activating)
And don't shit me with, then you get shit speeds. 1mb/s before stopping, same speed after. Illegal or not, I own a key, I got all rights to get the game. It's illegal, so what? I don't get your point in proving that it's warez (User was banned for this post ("" - ItchyBarracuda)) (User was banned for this post ("Warez/Illegal Activity" - ItchyBarracuda))
can we move the discussion on how this may or may not be illegal to another thread please? every time a website gives away keys this discussion arises, with no outcome at all. All this thread should be discussing is whether the keys work and where/how they work. It's up to the key owner to decide whether he might be using illegal methods to gain access to the games or not.
Awesome, got my friends a couple of keys for SOASE since they've been dying to play it.
Well damn. I was stoked for Champions. Oh well, I got a key for each of the other games so I'll deal :q:
It's only 'Warez' if you make a copy of it, when you buy a game now days, you get that nice big fat terms of service that basically says you aren't buying the game or the material on it, you're buying a license to use it is all you're doing In my books if you have a key, and you obtained the key legally, then you legally have a right to the license allowing you to play the game, regardless of how you got the game
Champions online keys don't work, just so you know.
Could anybody confirm if Champions Online key works with retail? Also, does Champions Online require a subscription or is it like Guild Wars? Nothing works on Steam for me, except Speedball 2.
Because you can't read
