yer, when you come out of the building with the giant combine alien thing (dont know what its called) the combine start shooting at you with crossbows
wat screens pls
I'm glad no NPC's use the 357. Its world model is horrific.
Fact: The lazy bums at Valve ported the HL1 world model. The low-definition one. I'm surprised that they weren't lazy enough to not make higher-res textures for it.
A citizen uses a "crowbar" against some manhacks in HL2, except it's model has been swapped with a lead pipe.
Somebody was using the crossbow in HL2, but he's dead when you find him (wasn't he burnt to death or something?) No idea how he left the ammo for it everywhere.
It shoots pieces of rebar.
yer, when you come out of the building with the giant combine alien thing (dont know what its called) the combine start shooting at you with crossbows
No they didn't. they don't even have animations for it.

The Combine don't use those weapons because that would be illogical and there aren't any animations for them anyway. The Rebels don't use them weapons because then they would win too easily. The idea of these weapons, and the gravity gun, is to be 100% unique to the player, so that the player knows that he is the only one with powerful weapons, that is why then that everyone follows Freeman because he is the on with the better arsenal.
I got this question, does the machine gun you get shoot some kind of laz0r rounds?
weapon_brickbat :eng101:
it's the saaame
The only NPC I found with a .357 had used it to blow his brains out onto the wall.
Well, I think the crowbar doesn't get use too much because people don't fight too close. The revolver and it's ammo seems rare, but it would be nice having someone using it in next episode. The crossbow is just weird weapon to carry, others would use the combine rifle more I guess.
Yea, but with a revolver the combine will b like NOEZ DUN SHOOT FAIC and youll be like YAH SHOOT FAIC PEWPEW >:E and combine die really hard. Plus your like Clint Eastwood when you use one :clint:
Gonna paint a wagon Gonna paint it good.... Oh wait thats unrelated... Crowbar was used for... I dunno, maybe "fix" things? The revolver may have been for high officers or w/e And the crossbow... I dunno actually... Maybe some rebels before they died?
A citizen uses a "crowbar" against some manhacks in HL2, except it's model has been swapped with a lead pipe.
more like they modelled a lead pipe and made the citizen use it. If it was a re-skinned "crowbar", the player would be able to pick it up.
more like they modelled a lead pipe and made the citizen use it. If it was a re-skinned "crowbar", the player would be able to pick it up.
Unless they added a flag that prevents the player from picking it up. Or if it was the same as a crowbar, the viewmodel would be a crowbar, meaning you'd never know the difference. Or you wouldn't pick it up because at that point in the game you already have a crowbar.
It's a fucking video game for gods sake.
It's a fucking video game for gods sake.
Okay. Anything else you want to add?
I found it odd how some of the metro cops in water hazard carried the .357, but still used the pistol. Every know and again I would see a metro cop drop both a .357 and a pistol

There was one instance of a Metro Cop dropping a .357, in Water Hazard when you enter the first warehouse, there's a cop on the second level that has a .357 melded into him
Where the fuck would you find weapons in a damn research facility?
Security. Army Invading. Alien Guns (OF). Scientific Guns.

The crowbar is too dangerous to us
Hey did you know that other people might have other ridiculous improvised melee weapons, such as guns?
No animations, huh?
Dont you kill a metrocop carrying the .357 when you first get it? Or is it on the table he's standing next to, cant remember. It's on water hazard.
It's on the table.
Somebody was using the crossbow in HL2, but he's dead when you find him (wasn't he burnt to death or something?) No idea how he left the ammo for it everywhere.
The ammo for it are just straight pieces of rebar. Incredibly common at construction sites.
I got this question, does the machine gun you get shoot some kind of laz0r rounds?
From what it looks like, it uses metal shaped disks, or either a large cylinder of metal that it cuts from during the firing mechanism, then shoots it out railgun style.
I got this question, does the machine gun you get shoot some kind of laz0r rounds?
I have a little theory to clear this up. And it's called an OSIPR or AR2. It's about 1,000,000 volts being discharged in alternating current over your skin in a very small area, causing electrical resistance; this reaction has the ability to penetrate through your body, but leaves nothing but potassium/sodium/positive ion here. The amount of bodily damage caused by it, along with macroshock, results in heart palpitation and possibly seizure along with organ failure and/or severe damage of all internal systems within 3 inches of the entrance/exit tunnel. A large number of shots can poison you, and while it goes through blood vessels it causes instant prothrombosis, which can cause gangrene in a part of your body raise blood pressure. Aka: It cuts off blood flow without any bleeding, by cutting a vessel in half then closing it on either end. tl;dr - You're fucked.
