That one change to my tapper allows me to play more maps with double time. But it also makes my finger hurt more because it's not as padded as it was before. My finger feels every impact.

In time you will be able to. These "tappers" as we all refer to them are literally just wires which when touching a conductive plate, complete the circuit - simulating a key press. In the case of Donovan it uses c and / or something stupid.
