Was buying Fallout 3 from Woolworths the day before it shut down, they forgot to scan it. :buddy:
I believe there is no such thing as a Limited Edition BFBC2, it was just a marketing ploy to get more people to preorder it.
Right in front of me. LIMITED EDITION at the top. I just bought it a few days ago.
Right in front of me. LIMITED EDITION at the top. I just bought it a few days ago.
I believe he's saying it's not as Limited as they say obviously. It's been a while and it's still selling in "Limited" which doesn't mean anything anyways other than some quicker unlocks.
Well I looked it up and the only TRUE reason it's limited is because the full priced non-used version of the game has the VIP code inside whilst BFBC2 used does not. That is why it's "limited"
Last year when I was in high school I opened my locker for the first time and L4D for the PC fell out. I looked in the locker some more and found a bunch of pictures of Zoey. The game was pretty much brand new with the plastic wrap still on it.
Oh right, well that explains a lot. But yeah, a lot of questions about the other game, he must've seen me looking at it, which I was, and they probably had a defunct or returned copy they couldn't sell for whatever. Not the first time cool things have happened at that store, every now and then I get a discount here and there, I got a $5 upgrade from normal to special edition for my copy of Assassin's Creed 2 and when Mass Effect 2 came out I was given a Hardback strategy guide for $10.
Is it the same guy giving you the freebies? If so...
Well, there is a certain user around who talked another FP user into gifting him a game on Steam that wasn't available in his region. Of course he never paid up. [editline]06:19PM[/editline] I know. I'm an idiot for trusting people. [editline]06:20PM[/editline] Well. I do like to believe in the good in man.
sounds a lot like manly tears.
My older brother is heavily into gaming and is a Valve gamer himself and one time he just gave me a huge number of his games. Was brilliant.
I found a old washed up copy of pokemon yellow version outside my moms work This one bookstore I went to with my parents as a kid had starcraft, total annihilation, and a bunch of other great rts games for like 50 cents each. What a steal! I went to buy a gladious for the ps2 from gamespot and when it wouldn't ring up the cashier guy just handed it and the strategy guide to me for free. Not really a game but at my school they were doing a give away and I won a copy of some early version of photoshop. I got some Nintendo games from the hospital where I had open heart surgery at.
My mate sent me a list of CS 1.6 serials when Steam was pretty new on the block, the third from the bottom of the list of 400 worked and gave me CS 1.6 along with the Half-Life Pack
I got some Nintendo games from the hospital where I had open heart surgery at.
Heart for you. In the non ironic way.
My old school had half-life 1 on all computers and I really wanted it so I got my teacher to burn it onto a disk for me. We often played deathmatch in the breaks until some guy brought his computer to school, turned out it had some virus and it infected all the school computers so we couldn't use them for a month or two.
Whent he World of Goo devs let you pay whatever you wanted for their game... I paid £1 because I was poor :(

I found copies of pretty much every game in existence on the internet to download for free! :smug: But no srsly, there's this demo of a weird indie puzzle game on steam, which gives you the full game when you install it. Found out about in some thread on the steam forums. Shame the game is absolute shit though.
I just realized I have my old friend's PS1 memory card and his Digimon game. ...Shit.
My dad came home from the Philippines back in 2000. He bought a ton of PC games and gave them to my siblings and I. All the games were crap except for this one gem: Half-Life along with counterstrike and team fortress. I didn't go on the internet at all back then, so I was completely in the dark when it came to Half-life. I hardly played any games back then, so it was quite an experience.
I tried out serial codes to enter to Steam and suddenly my Gunman Chronicles CD-Key (an old Sierra game using GldSrc engine) gave me HL1 Platinum Pack. It was awesome.
Shit I wish I had that game still. [editline]05:46PM[/editline]
Whent he World of Goo devs let you pay whatever you wanted for their game... I went into this junk/antique garage once, and found Battlezone. It worked perfectly, too. Makes you wonder what kind of people just literally gave games away like that.
I found Final Fantasy Tactics: Advance in my local swimming pool parking lot. I spent ungodly amounts of time on that game. Seriously, I played it so much that when I turned it off, I could still hear the music. :ghost: That can't be healthy.
This was just kind of a funny experience but when I was younger I really wanted GTA Vice City and I convinced my parents that I was mature enough to play it. So my dad and I went to Walmart to get it and when we walked up to the cashier, she looked at me and saw how excited I was and told my dad, "You know you have to be at least 17 years or older to play this right?" Now my dad looks about 50 and is a pretty serious person so I thought he might change his mind because of this, but instead he said, "Yea, I think I'm older than 17" and gave her a dirty look. It was pretty epic, at least in the eyes of a ten year old anyways.
Went to a local thrift store and got a Sega Genesis with around 10 games and a controller for $20(all working) and two Sega Dreamcasts along with 4 controllers and around 10 games for $30. All working great. Not exactly strange, but certainly an awesome find at that place.
Another time I remember aquiring a bunch of games was when I went to this technology game for game design and modding. We were modding JK: Outcast, and I really enjoyed it. One of the counselors gave me a CD, and all 16 CD keys, none of which were validated. I also won a game called 'Space Colony' or some crap during a raffle. Technically I lost, but I picked it up anyway, because one of the counselors had worked on it, it was the last prize, and I didnt want him to feel bad. lol.
Sounds like a badass IT guy.
Haha yeah, but these situations are getting rarer and rarer due to DRM
I drew furfag art. I know, horrible, but you can't argue with a free game.
My dad's friend doesn't have internet, and he bought MW2. He activated it on his steam account at my house and gave me the info. I now own a generic first person shooter for free.
I found an unmarked gameboy game on the side of the road, turned out to be zelda, pretty awesome find.
i traded a pokemon card (a rare one though) for pokemon silver. i dare you to beat this
I got dragged to a craft store by my mom a couple weeks ago. I found a brand new, unopened copy of Homeworld in a pile of discounted stuff.
Last year when I was in high school I opened my locker for the first time and L4D for the PC fell out. I went to a blockbuster and rented a Mega man game and a few others, They closed down the next day and I got to keep them.
