My friend gave me his copy of Half Life, little did he know I needed a separate CD key, so for the next hour I was just put random stuff in to try and get it right, he grabbed my laptop and typed in PENIS-PENIS-PENIS-PENIS-PENIS, and it worked. I was crying in laughter :P
Why rate me dumb? I'm not joking.
Steam disagrees with this story, I tried to steal your CD-key to get a HL Platinum pack to give to my friends, didn't work.
My friend gave me about 10 xbox 360 games because he forgot them at my place and then sold his 360.
I was randomly searching the garage yesterday, then pryed open this old CD drive.
Guess what I found.

FUCK YESSSSSSSSSS
Found a copy of HL at a thrift store, put the Cd key in steam. i think you all can figure out what happened then.
When I had my computer built for the first time, the guy who built it installed Battlefield 1942 on it for me so I could play with him and his friends online. He optimized my computer to run it perfectly (since at the time, BF1942 was the "Crysis" of that time.)
Copy of Ultimate Doom when I was around 7 or 8. Found it in my house in a bedroom we never used, no one knew how it got there and it had something stuck to the top of it. After cleaning it up a bit it worked fine. Still have the disc but it won't run that well (was DOS or Windows 95).
I found a Game Boy:advance in the garden the other day.
I had a bionicle game in it.
When i first moved in, Lost Planet Extreme Condition was sent to my hours, i assume the previous inhabitants ordered it, the CD key didn't work. It was left untouched for 2 to 3 years, got bored one day, contacted steam support, they said my account had been hijacked, they transferred the account to my Email, i logged on, not only did i have Lost Planet, i had just obtained an account with COD MW2 on it (about 2 or 3 days after initial steam release) :D I don't play it though, not that good, and i cba logging into another acocunt.
My friend found all the star wars games for pc, in the garbage... Some oof them suck ass, but hey! Nice..

260 objects in detail :v:
I bought FEAR for 10 bucks, I opened up the box and it was FEAR, Extraction Point AND Perseus Mandate, all with CD keys. :v:
I found a CD in the hall at school. Went, used it, turned out it had installation for Quake 2 and a pirated version of 300. Virus/malware free!
looked around at a garage sale, this guy was giving away all of his games free, no-one wanted em, so we took them all.
So my school has this complete douche as the admin for the network. He had recently set up a new policy that banned installing games/programs onto the school computers, so as you can imagine, a lot of people got pissed & worked around the problem.
One way was to plug a thumbdrive into the computer, as the policy only forbid installing onto the computer, but not running them from an external drive.
So one day I walk into the computer lab to work on my English final, when I see a Western Digital drive just sitting there. I pick it up and ask the dude sitting at the next terminal if it's his, and he says no, so I took home to see what was on it.
Cracked versions of Audiosurf, Borderlands, FEAR plus expansions, and all 3 Dooms.
Need less to say I :gizz:'d

Trade it in for BC2.
I had a few these.
Once (about 3 or 4 years ago), I was driving to the city with my bike (about 2 kilometers) and I saw something hanging on a tree. I drove next to it and saw a white box (game box, legalish) with a note next to it "do not take this!".
Inside it - I found Half-Life 2. That was the first time I got steam, i prayed that the cd-key code works - and whoolah! I played Half-life 2 for free the first time!
Another time was a little bit more... Weird.
I was sort of short on money, just begging to find something to sell in a garage sell coming next week (it was 2008 then) to buy myself Modern Warfare since I found numbers of it for sale with a big cost on it. I was salvaging everything I could (including - toys that I clear the dirt and repair them with my dad, other stuff, you probably can name it) and came to a deserted shop-like 1 floor house, I went all around searching for stuff and found a dollar lying around...
And you won't fucking believe it. I found MODERN WARFARE! It was a little bit scratched, but I fixed it with a "secret" technique and made it work! The serial was inside it, which worked. I have searched the whole shop for 30 minutes until I found some sort of hidden stash with the dollar and a few other things that I sold in the garage sale.
Hah.
Another dramatically acquired game I got was Grand Theft Auto 4 (it happened 2 days ago). I was doing the clean-up-your-country thing, we had collected trash and I was going first and something shined in my eye, went next to it and I found a couple of DVDs with the title barely visible, although the backs of the DVDs we're not scratched. I went home after the work, telling nobody that I found it, put one of the DVDs and found GTA 4. I still needed a CD-KEY, so I went back where I found the DVDs, and luckily I found a box that had the title GTA 4 in it. I used the serial and installed the game.
Humpf.

A while back I was in a hospital for blood platework stuff and I was playing mario 64 on n64 (they had it in the room I was in :buddy: ) but I was too weak to play it. The nurse let me take the n64 and game home with me when I was done with the blood platework stuff
I got the orange box from my brothers ex-girlfriend, her father had stolen it from a warehouse

lol?
I went to gamespot and stupid enough they left a working orange box cd key in the box and made an new account for it.
Not weird, but it does pay to have a dad workin in maintenance at a resort.
Not only did he find me a GBA, he also found a Wario game to go with it.

The CD isn't working. I tried for about on hour, on 7/XP and this old Toshiba laptop running ME.
The CD is fucked. Even though it doesn't look that bad. :emo:
