But if you're just stocking up beforehand wouldn't people question you?
"Hey why are you taking all my groceries?"
"Well there's going to be an outb- oh never mind you'll find out tomorrow"
Didn't you ever read World War Z? They knew about the infection months, sometimes even years before it fully hit them. The smart ones stocked up ahead of time. Obviously, at least a this stage in development, we can't simulate planning beforehand years in Rogue Survivor, a day should suffice. But I have to disagree, I think it's good you're just dropped in, otherwise it's no "fun."
It's a struggle, as the guy said above, the longer you play the easier it gets, you just have to win that first 5 or 6 days.
Got bored of my situation, so I left my safehouse with 2 Hammers, 2 army armor, 4 shotguns and 2 army pistols. My mission was simply to go out swinging, and that I did. I left my district for another, which was swarming with zombies, and started my last stand. Fittingly, a character as badass as mine only met his end at the most hardcore of all zombies: Lars Ulrich.

For the record, that's 220 enemy kills in total. The problem I have with this game is nothing ever changes. You can't rid a district of zombies, it's just a constant cycle of zombies re spawning, and honestly after a week or so it's very easy to survive. I had 16 food items with this character, and was constantly finding more all over the district. There needs to be more the player can do, some way that either a district or a section of a district can be "secured" and zombies will rarely be found. As it is I got bored of owning zombies and had to actively seek out a huge group of them in order to die.

Learning from getting killed repeatedly is useful but when I first started playing the controls were confusing to say the least. If nothing else, a day before the outbreak could teach you the controls and give advice beforehand.

I think you're forgetting, this is an Alpha version, there'll obviously be more in the future.
Going slowly into day Seven.
I just noticed, is it just me or once the National Guardsmen show up does the whole situation suddenly become extremely easy? I find only on occasion one or two zombies that I quickly dispatch, and only hope that some survivor with groceries died somewhere localy.
Survived for three days, but then got killed by some CHAR guard.
20 bags of food doesn't go as far in alpha 3.
However alpha 3 plays a lot better for me because I can really fuck shit up.
It's annoying how EVERYTHING gets destroyed, furniture, doors and it's impossible to find more stuff to loot save for the piles of corpses. Windows aren't bad since you can still barricade a broken window though.
Yeah, zombie apocalypses sure are annoying. :) ...hope my local shop will respawn food if something like that should happen in RL.

I don't think apocalypse can be used as a plural. :raise:
I don't think apocalypse can be used as a plural. :raise:
Yes it can.
apocalypses
Well, after trying absolutely everything ("Updating" DX, fixing .NET Framework, even updating windows installer), I have come to the conclusion that I will not be able to play the game if I try to put it on my computer via installation.
Therefore, I ask you, Facepunch, for help. If someone could .zip up their installed directory of Rogue Survivor, and upload it, I would be very grateful.
In this game, there are only two "real" enemies that keep on killing me. The "Shiny Eye" skeletons that will be faster than you, unless you run, and Disciples, who perform carnage just for the sake of it. Luckily for myself during one of my attempts a Disciple charged straight into a Char building, and then left.
Let me tell you, some very nice loot here, although the armor is not the best there is.

How do you get shops to respawn food?
I never get food respawns.
Is the food meant to respawn? I usualy go for the military drops, as you can take a lot more of them than "food".
The zombies are fucking mental in the new version. I killed 7 of them just walking around in the beginning room. Then a zombie master came and fucked me up.
Annoying how you can't barricade doors you've walked through.
Is there any way to close a door after you've opened it?
c + bump door
What's in a millitary drop I never got one.
lots of supplies.
Damn. I finally find a grocery store as I had just been surrounded and down to 1hp. As the fog disappears I see two survivors at the front doors and I think "Wow, they are guarding the store" but by my next step I see they are running from something. The first step I take into the store and I get killed instantly by a skeleton.
Busted in the CHAR HQ, managed to kill 3 CHAR guards along with my partner with just baseball bats. Sadly, one with a really big gun came and killed me and my partner before I could get any further.
There should be an assault rifle. It would be very rare, but there should be one.
Also, being able to carry ammo.
I despise zombie masters so I take my anger out on the civilians by closing the door they try to run through when they are being chased.
Those glowing skeleton ones can outrun me, apparently. I'll try to look out for them next time.
If you were ever wondering how are "Disciples" made. I saw one of the zombie civilians kill another civilian and suddenly, apparently because of the kill, he became a Disciple. I have yet to see if they have to kill a certain number of people, or just one.

Press C and bump the door then you can.
When in doubt RTFM.
I was in a raided store with some other guys and one offered to trade a bat for a bat? Also, someone gave me a rifle for a bat that they dropped.
This game is awesome.
The way to go is crossbows. I raided some sort of store (Sports store? Had a hunting rifle, golf clubs) and got 5 crossbows. They hold 30 bolts each and after getting 2 bow skill each of them did 17 damage. Once I got 2 high stamina if I couldn't kill it with my crossbow I could run like hell away from it. Also, 1 hit kill on skeletons, netting me 50 normal ones in total :v: Ended up dying on day 5 with 1 health when a zombie master jumped me when I opened a door.
