• Rogue Survivor: Roguelike Sandbox Zombie Game!

Currently working on making a game inspired much by this in Scirra Construct. It's going to be MUCH like Rogue Survivor; randomly generated towns/regions, line of sight, day/night cycle, inventory system that will be much like Rogue Survivor's. However, I'm adding many more weapons, an enhanced barricade system, a locational damage engine, and many more enhancements. Once I get it to a semi-playable state (at the moment, I've only got movement, weapons systems, inventory, and the HUD in; working on it frivolously :D) I'll probably post some screens on here for you guys to see :D
Oh shit, there's BlackOps in this game, too? And they're hostile to every faction in the game? Oh noooo~ [editline]09:53PM[/editline]
I'm extremely lucky in some games and unlucky in others. Some games I get groceries right away, get a hunting rifle, get two party members with guns, and manage to live for like, 6 days. Other games I start out, get my bat, and while I'm going through my first house I walk right into a zombie master. Why do zombie games ALWAYS have to have something else? This has zombie masters, SCZ has banshees and ghosts, Dead Rising has a time limit. I can't find a regular zombie survival game anywhere.
this game is really awesome also i found a woman sleeping in the middle of the grocery store right next to the zombie master
I've always found that most zombie games tend to become boring if there aren't any variations... Are there any zombie CLASSES (fat zombie, fast zombie, slow zombie) or mabye animal zombies? On another note, i do enjoy roguelikes, so i'll give it a try.
there's a few zombie variations, but I don't think it matters, the game would be fun without them

There might be more, and those descriptions may not be entirely accurate as I've only played like, 11 games.

Well, besides health and speed. Mabye what ARE they is a better question.
everything is easy to kill if you have the ammo, best to get it is to trade with the police, well for me so far anyways [editline]08:45PM[/editline] holy shit a bunch of bikers raided my hideout, i escaped with 1 HP [editline]08:46PM[/editline] fuck they pursued me and bashed me back to 2 hp, got eaten by a zombie while trying to escape them
Hmm, is melee hard when fighting against a zombie? And can YOU get infected?
started a new game, found a place to hide in a gunstore, I pulled a bed across the town to it and all tons of supplies and formed rooms with the shelves, should be a good place to hide, it has a single entrance that seems easy to protect

i'm not sure about walls, but they can break furniture, doors and windows
Hmmm, wtf, i keep bumping into this civilian trying to attack her but alls it does is ask me to trade...
Hmmm, wtf, i keep bumping into this civilian trying to attack her but alls it does is ask me to trade...
Can't attack in this game as far as I know.
Can't attack in this game as far as I know.
That's lame... I should be able to kill and steal the goods of those less fortunate to run into me... http://www.zooptek.net/drupal/?q=node/15 http://deadbyzombie.com/ theres some other zombie roguelikes. they use ASCII graphics though.
I finally got this game to work, and it is addictingly fun.
Wait, is this online?
I found it like this. What happened here. :v:
Fun, but too bad I don't know how to move.
Fun, but too bad I don't know how to move.
4 8 2 and 6 on your numpad, 5 to just skip a turn
Fun, but too bad I don't know how to move.
Why don't you read the manual? You've obviously never played a roguelike.
Why don't you read the manual? You've obviously never played a roguelike.
Roguelikes usually don't come with manual's, mostly just small control layouts and help guides if you press f1 or SHIFT + ?, and movement is usually the arrow keys.
I know a bit about this game if you guys have any questions. Zombie masters are nothing compared to neophytes and especially disciples. Disciples are like a combination of the hunter and tank from L4D. They are faster than you and can kill you with ease. Zombies turn(evolve?) into neophytes and then disciples after killing civilians/survivors.
This game crashes everytime i try to save or load a game... I need a fix.
This game crashes everytime i try to save or load a game... I need a fix.
How do you save?
Roguelikes usually don't come with manual's, mostly just small control layouts and help guides if you press f1 or SHIFT + ?, and movement is usually the arrow keys.
If you've played a roguelike before, it shouldn't take you long to figure out. I'm used to having to press every key on the keyboard to figure out what the hell does what by now.

I'm currently holding up in a CHAR building, went berserk with a shotgun, killing the three sleeping guards. I'm residing there with 2 followers, living on Army rations and some groceries (I was lucky to start next to ALOT of groceries.), and lucky for me, they are both light eaters. I'm on day 8 now so i'll see how things turn out. Oh, and is there a way to make followers drop their stuff and to give them things? They carry alot of ammo but no weapons.
There's ammo now? Not just unreloadable guns?
