I feel honored that he renamed the regular zombie tree to shambler. Hopefully he saw that from the wiki.
So I got about 5 friends playing this in the last couple days, and it's fun enough to deserve a live topic!
The most memorable experiences of mine have usually involved my follower, the awesome Julian Taylor. Level 5 firearms and a shotgun means he's saved my life an absurd amount of times.
Also, my friend was killed by a hungry citizen, who was in turn killed by a cop. :v:
Protips: Blue pills mean followers they won't fall asleep whenever they want to, if you don't have that directive disabled.
Store your junk in a basement, drag something big and un-jump-on-able over the stairs and it'll be left alone, until bikers come and destroy everything!
Travel light once you have a base nearby, oftentimes there's an absurd amount of things you want/need but no room to carry them.
Nice bump, also yeah this game is pretty fun too bad its almost dead since he only goes to work on it every once and a while since he uses flash

INSTALL

- New building : Warehouse, filled with crates.
Map Objects
- New object : Crate - break them to loot random content or use them as mobile barricade.
Melee
- Disarm : when fighting in melee attacker/defender has a small chance to disarm opponent on a succesfull hit/defence (5%).
Skills
- Martial Arts increase chances to disarm opponent.
Death
- Dead people always drop their ammo and food.
INTERFACE & MANUAL
- Removed Exit/Cancel binding, ESC is the universal exit key.
MOD
- Skills.csv : Martial Arts 3rd value = disarm bonus.
- New gfx for crates.
KNOWN BUGS AND GLITCHES
- Asymetric FoV.

I'm only bumping this to revive and keep the thread going, because it is a fun game.
Once, I took control of a CHAR employee, who hid in an office with two other men, the front doors were boarded and the zombie tracker showed no undeads near them. There were two cars to the left of the entrace to act as a choking point, 2 cars blocking the right. It was the perfect top-of-the-map spot.
Until my character went insane. He needed pills urgently, so I tore down the barricaded doors (or atleast the boards nailed to them) and left the building. Before embarking, I killed off the only horde on the block in the choke point. I found multitudes of medical supplies and ammunition, the neighborhood below the safe house was also content. But disaster struck! When I returned the safe house was destroyed, all companions dead, the finest glass doors shattered at his army-class steel toed boots.
A gang of zombies swiftly raped and ate him.

Man, no new posts in almost a year. Has the game gotten a bunch of updates since then? I was always interested in playing this, but last I heard, it still felt really unfinished and shallow.
Then again, that was when it was still practically brand-new.

Not really, but it did just upgrade to Alpha V9, with added new "Sanity" meters. Over the last couple of updates it got more options and game-mode choices:

Corpses and Infection

Oh hello. Thanks for bumping this thread, for I forgot that I've been wanting to play this again the past few days. I believe my best exploit in the game was the time when I moved a bunch of supplies into a one of those CHAR lobby buildings, and barricaded myself in it with Mr. T and some other guy.
And then, bikers happened.

I also had a good run as a reincarnated police officer, I took my buddy and ran to the police station.
After a harrowing and fruitful adventure we arrived, and the station was full of bikers.
