I recommend Dead Rising 2, it's very fun - you can kill tons of zombies, create hundreds of inventions and etc, you can see it's trailer somewhere on youtube.

For FPS I can recommend Bad Company 2, that game is really what an FPS should be.
For RTS, well, Strarcraft 2 bring in the fun from old-school RTS games.
For RPG, I know that I don't really like them but somehow I find Fallout New Vegas awesome, from the dialogue to the fights, it's great.

Just Cause 2 is awesome, you should give it a try. I spent the first 2 weeks fucking around, didn't even start the campaign. GTA IV is fun as hell too.
