People would just keep making characters until they get a force sensitive one.
Perhaps you only find out at lvl 10 or so? They could easily do things to counter that, and I doubt children would have the patience and attention span to actually repeatedly create new characters they'd play.

Yeah, HK-47 is one of the most awesome things about the KOTOR games.
Correction: That is a simple answer, guided by common perceptions of what is "great" and "what isn't."
Meatbag.
They will probably use the COH method for force weilding classes.
Meaning you need to get to some high level and then you can create a jedi/sith.
Probably be a bounty hunter at first.
Anyone know where I can download a HD version of the Timeline 2 video?
Jedi will not have any huge advantages over any class, otherwise you wouldn't be able to start as one.
My guess is that every class will be even, except for the few small given advantages and disadvantages of every class.

The Jedi won't be very good at fighting at range but will have a big advantage up close.

Some people expect Jedi to be able to deflect most hits, take even more hits, and kill people in one force choke/lightning.
I highly, highly doubt that Jedi will be powerful. It's usually the unexpected classes that have a big advantage over others before patching.

The problem with that is people have pre-conceived notions that the Jedi/Sith are the "Heroes" of the Star Wars series, and as such should be given special attention.
I whole-heartedly agree with this, they should give the Jedi/Sith incredible power and ability, but find some way to severely limit availability.

Yeah, but then that would cause the whole SWG dilema, where only people that played 6+ hours a day had a chance of getting it.
I'm sure this would also ward off all of the little kids who saw the video, and want to do everything they saw in a cinema trailer.
The only way I can see them in the game is if they are just as weak/strong as other classes, which will probably anger all the people who want to slice through the entire story.

How about this: You can choose to be labeled "Force Sensitive" at the start of the game, but after 10 or so levels the game randomly chooses if you have enough Midi-Chlorians to become a Jedi/Sith? Hell, you can go through some Force Sensitive Specific quests where you discover your specific count (with higher numbers being exceedingly rare, but more powerful.)
To keep everyone from picking Force Sensitive, picking it means you are a target for numerous Jedi/Sith who not only want to grief, but RP as hunters for the Light/Dark before enemies grow powerful enough. And to make matters worse, if you FAIL to have enough Midi-Chlorians, while you have some minor stat boosts in reflexes/speed, you are seen as a big, fat, juicy target.
I want Jedi/Sith to be more powerful because they are widely seen as the Heroes of the Star Wars games, having one on the battlefield would be a "Shit's going down" moment.
I'm going to be trooper and prove that not all troopers have horrible aim and dies in one shot. I don't care whether it's going to be overpopulated or overused, I'm going to have a Jedi character.

Might work if it didn't contradict the story, and make it impossible for lower levels to advance while getting constantly getting pked.
Also, people would simply grind/recreate characters until they get a force sensitive character at that point.

Only problem is, once you make a Jedi an average strength, common class, it takes a fuckton of the awesomeness(?) out of it.

Exactly, that's why I said I'm most likely going trooper since it is a support/buff class.
not all the jedi were super badasses and not all bounty hunters were shitty like zam wessel..
it should be fairly even, and i think you'd be surprised how many people don't want to play a force user..

Based on the current classes, over 66% of people on the other forums are already going jedi/sith.
Since Jedi/Sith is basically the mascot of the Star Wars series, it's not a big surprise. Just as long as it's not overpowered.
Based on the current classes, over 66% of people on the other forums are already going jedi/sith.
which is understandable, considering not all classes have been revealed, hopefully they will be more appealing
anyways, this fits the lore find and i sort of enjoy bounty hunters being a sort of a novelty

I'm going to make a whiny, bitchy Mandalorian Bounty Hunter with a strong inferiority complex, then if there aren't enough GOOD Jedi/Sith (as in, don't know enough Star Wars Lore to properly play one) I'll probably then create an even more whiny, bitchy Jedi/Sith with slight bouts of psychosis.
Sounds unique?
They will probably nerf the fuck out of characters that wield lightsabers. They probably would be given less health than the others, since they have force heal, and they will probably be able to wear light armor only, seeing that they have to be agile, since lightsabers can cut through virtually anything.

That's not nerfing, that is simply following Star Wars Canon.
I want to be a sniper or something like that.

That or a crafting class.
I came buckets.

My opinion is that you could do yourself a midichlorian test,at level 15(kids don't have that much patience) and it is random, now if you have an average level of midichlorians, you can get jedi training.
By the way,im going sith, jedis are faggots.

Problem with that is it sort of undermines what a Jedi/Sith really is; a trained-at-birth badass.
Now if what they did was made it so your character has Amnesia, and at level 10 or so you pick your class, THAT would be awesome (as you remember your past, which would heavily encourage you to follow the story.)
Does it even matter that there will be so many Jedi in this time period?
In star wars galaxies it was stupid because it was set when there was only supposed to be a few jedi but here isn't there supposed to be quite a lot anyway?

I thought we learned from the TF2 Sniper/Spy update that giving things to RANDOM PLAYERS wasn't fun.

Fuck being a jedi/sith I'm being a scout! :v:
Why are the jedi and sith fighting anyways?
Why are the jedi and sith fighting anyways?
Because the sith want power and it makes for good gameplay.
Just apply anti itch cream here
