I got an original XBOX for Christmas a few years ago, and it turns out it was already modded with tons of emulators and ROMS. I have most of the late 80's and 90's on my xbox. I even have counter-strike.
I have FF7? :P I had a Sega Genesis, which was my favorite for ages, and it died years back. So sad :[ We threw the console and games away, which I wholly wish I hadn't done.
I once found an old NES controller and Zapper out on the street. The controller was repurposed as a USB hub for my ludicrously short-cabled USB peripherals and the Zapper as a laser pointer to play with my pets. Lost the Zapper a while ago, though. I do plan on buying some of the older consoles when I have money, specifically an N64 and some arcade machine hardware.
I have a Gamecube, Xbox and PS1 + games for each. Not really artifacts, but still nice and hard to come by now.
Go to GameStation, you can pick up an Xbox and games for a tenner, Gamecube and games for about £20. Also [thumb]http://horobox.co.uk/u/icemaz_1316464349.jpg[/thumb] Photo is about a year and a bit old now, I have a Virtual Boy, a Second Gamecube and SNES with games on top of this collection
I found an unopened Dreamcast controller in a box a couple of months ago. Not sure where the Dreamcast went, though.
I wasn't aware owning old games was such a big deal. I've got two SEGA Genesis consoles, one of the 64Bit extenders, a SEGA-CD attachment, tons of games for the base Genesis, a handful for the extender and SEGA-CD, several NES systems and some games for them, a PSX with a number of games for it, GameBoy original and GameBoy color and about a dozen or so games for them... on the newer side I have one of the first released 360 consoles, complete with red ring of death.
I have about three N64s, although one is missing most of the essential cords.
I've got an NES with a couple of games and a zapper. Too lazy to photograph it, though.
I have a bunch of gamecube and gameboy color stuff too if you guys wanna see that.
Made this picture a few weeks ago. I got plenty more old games, but these gigantic boxes hold a special place in my heart.
PAGE STRETCHER Found this baby a week ago, It still kind of works but doesn't at the same time. It starts up, But then goes off after 10 seconds. Bummer though, But it was a nostalgia hit when I found it. Not exactly artifacts but the oldest games I can see from where I am sitting are Time Crisis, Tony Hawks Skateboarding, 007: Tomorrow Never Dies, Tekken 3 and The Iron Maiden Game, Ed Hunter.
I used to have a Sega Genesis, and my absolute favorite game for it was the Jurassic Park game (the side-scroller where you could either play as Dr. Grant or a Raptor). I could NEVER figure out how to beat the last level where I had to fight two raptors (if I was Grant) or Grant (if I was a Raptor). About a decade later I had looked it up online on a whim, and decided "hey, let's find my old Genesis, hook it up, and finally beat that bitch of a game!" However, it was gone. It turned out my mother sold it a while ago to get me and my bro an N64, with the reason "you were getting a new console, you didn't need the old one anymore, right?" A tear comes to my eye whenever I remember that story.
The only old things that I have is a green gameboy color (with Batman and I may still have Link's Awakening) I also have a 1996 copy of Myst. That's all, though.
I've got 2 of these controllers laying around my house (1 is still unopened). I've also got 10 N64 games, and a Gamecube with a working Action Replay. Not a lot, but I'm keeping these things with me for as long as I can.
I recently found Mechwarriors 2. The ATI rage edition which only came bundled with specific computers. I got it to "work" but when I tried to start a game, it crashed
I saw an unopened Japanese copy of Starfox 64 at my local gameshop if that counts. I actually might buy it cause it looks pretty cool.

I bought a fully intact Virtual Boy with 5 games for $5 at a flea market. Still have it. Also, my weird uncle left a suitcase of random crap at my house once, found an old original pong system inside it.

I know a guy who's got a VIC-20 up in his cabin in the orginal box with all the papers. I'm hoping I can Take it off of his hands later this month!!!
I still have my old copy of Carnivores 2 :D
A month ago I decided to see if I could reclaim Armored Core 2 if it was still around. Unfortunately the local gamestop had only Last Raven so I had to settle for that. Still a classic though, The old Armored Core games were just plain epic for me.
